Night pictures look really good Doc! The LEDs without the amber signals look hot! I'm going to call Andy today and order myself a set of those matte black overlays! Great Job man!

Btw, I know that you're spacing on the LED strips are not as spaced as close as mine however, is it me or does it look like LEDS "run into" eachother there by giving the "christmas light" effect in the second to the last PIC? Could be just the Pic though. F-stop probably was set to high thereby letting too much lgiht into the lens when the pic was taken. I'm sure they look absolutely different in person... Either way, your coupe looks Sick!

Erm...I think you mean f-stop set too low. A lower f-number (ie. f/2.8) means a wider aperture which lets in more light (and creates a muddy light-effect) whereas a higher f-number does not. Also, when you stop a lens down to f/10<, it creates that neato starburst effect (which is, in turn, dependent on how many blades the aperture in your particular lens has).

/smartassedness.It seems like everyone in these forums is an expert at something! I'm just trying to claim my own! haha!

Rob, did you wire these up to a switch or are they hardwired to the DRLs?

Yeah I knew that... Just making sure that someone like you was paying attention j/k

No really, I'm no expert at photography but I'm trying to by playing around with different manual setting on my camera.

DRLs?...where is this infamous DRLs located? I've found the fuse in the enginebay fuse box for it but taking a volt meter to both sides of the fuse, it shows "hot" on both sides. I would have thought it would have been tied to the iginition. Can someone please tell me where this DRLs are...

Yeah, all the pictures come out with the christmas tree light effect... but as you photography gurus have pointed out, my camera, or my knowledge of how to properly take pictures at night, OR BOTH have limitations, so that's why you get this effect on film. But in person, even from a distance, you can clearly see the individual LED's both during the day and at night!

no, these are wired directly to the running lamp wires... not sure if that's a good idea or not, I was just trying to limit the number of switches I have in my car... I don't want my dash to turn into a cockpit like my last vehicle!

2ndly what do you guys think in terms of mounting it on a sedan? we dont have the 1' of fog housing like you guys, I was thinking...

EDIT: Doc, I also see there's this 4-prone cable extension and all that accessories, do we need any of that?
I answered ur 1st ? earlier

for your 2nd ?, I think where you suggested is a good idea...

3. Everything you need to install this will come with your led strip. the 4 prong extension is if you wanted to attach two of these and make it 24 inches... the install process will make more sense when you get the kit... one end of the LED strip will have 4 empty holes for the extension, just use some silicone on that to seal it up!

That looks hot! Thanks for answering all my ?'s, cant wait to install mine Hmm I wonder if I should hook it up to a switch, so maybe i can turn it off when i want, especially w/ stupid cali cops around, hope they wont be a bxtch about it.

I understand what you mean about the Cali Cops... I think the HIDs + fog lamos + led running lights would be reason for cops to pull you over in Cali...

I've been off and on about running my fog lamps with these LED's running lamps on at the same time... we'll see how it goes! But wiring them up to a switch couldn't hurt at all... if you hook them up to an ACC fuse in your fuse box, then you will have them wired for running lamps, but have the additional ability to turn them off as well!

Doc, sorry to digress, I have a question in terms on installing the switch. I have attached a wiring diagram below, and I was wondering, how can I attach a fuse in between the battery and the switch shown in the diagram?

Are you going to individually drill holes make you own LED strip and wire them in series like you show in the diagram? Or are you going to drill holes and insert pre-wired LEDs? if you decide on individual LEDs make sure you solder on resistors and use this website to help you design your array

If you read my previous post, I mentioned that I ordered the same thin-LED-strips as doc's, so basically I will just use the diagram but instead of the LEDs in series, I will just use the LED strip from Oznium. Do you think it'll work?

Sorry man, typical guy thing, I looked at the picture. Anyway, yes it should work. Most of the LEDs that oznium sells have built in resistors so they are 12volt ready. Just follow your diagram and you should be good!

Post pics when you have them installed!

Good point Dangeris, all of their LED strips are 12 volt ready! You only need to worry about resistors and what not when you do the individual LED's likt the one's grystrm is doing in his headlight

...or you can wire them in series and place a "dummy load" that attaches to the positive and negative of the wire terminals. Basically it's a giant resistor that's rated from 10 to 20 amps that "tricks" the electrical system that there is an incandescent bulb instead of LEDs . A lot of hot rod guys use this when they rewire their old cars with LED signals / brake lights. Pretty slick I think!

The Ozium lights i have in my cupholders and dash had the resistor inline already shrink tubed and ready to go which was a pleasure, and they come neatly tucked into a waterproof housing, theres a lot of things you can do with all the Ozium stuff and i think their quality is excellent.

Absolutely they are! This is my second order from them and it seems that the quality is consistent across the board. but hey, what do I know about consistency when I only have 2 orders
