gt2871 upgragde bottom mount

ok so i was on 240sx motoring.com and it said if you want to use the original turbo setup and upgrade the gt2871 you would have to customize a turbo intake pipe. something like that. has anyone done this upgrade and is there any pre manufactured pipes to do this..

I think the pipings the same, its the coupling that attaches to the turbo that needs to be bigger, i think

i dont think they make a premanufactured pipe but its not much work at all, youll need lines also

so if I get the apexi super suction intake made for the stock turbo...it will fit the gt28? With a new coupler?

Garrett makes a gt2871r with an s15/s15 t-28 style inlet and phase2 sells adapter plates to make it a true bolt on application. With that much air going through you'll want to get the apex/greddy/hks super suction kit which has a metal intake pipe.

I got one of them GT2871r with T28 style compressor housing. I was able to use my stock intake pipe by cutting the stock pipe and welding it into correct angle then picking up a turbo outlet made by Greddy that way I can use S13 hot pipe.
