The SS manifold comes with a lifetime warantee so I'm still debating on it. The stock one looks really ugly, i dunno yet...

ANyways, I see that that they aren't on, that's what I asked you waht are you going to do with it? Are you gonna get Earl's SS Braided lines or custom make you own? 'Cause I want to know how to make it or get it later on.

Lifetime warrenty = Good, if the co. is still in business when that time comes. Dont let that fool you. Plus, i have contacted ssautochrome and they havent even given me a response to whether or not they willl accept an exchange or give me my money back.

Yes that stock one looks ugly in the pic. But up close it isnt really that bad. There's always ceramic coating. or i could have it chromed :D. Heh, prob not.

-=Offtopic=- Also, here's some great turbo information. http://www.turbomustangs.com/t...story

so you bought the SS one and it doesn't fit??? That's weird. I really want a manifold though, i just don't want a stock one. Do you know any other sites that sell it?

Enjuku Racing has one for $300 as well as projectsilvia. I have yet to see either one.

Ok, back to the turbo...I'm having doubts that I won't finish install this GT25R in one day...I'm trying to collect every parts so it would be just a bolt on. So much money involved too...I just wanna do it right the first time. ::::sign::::

The water line is the stock water line. The oil line is steel reinforced hydraulic hose with -an fittings.

I want to hit 400HP, is the GT25R is the only turbo that retain the T25 flange that I can get?

GT3037 is a T25 flange..... :)

As for fittment, just stick the stock SR WG actuator onto the GT25R housing. I drilled and taped it into the compressor housing, took like 10 min and works like a charm. I ran the stock actuator, with no problems (although I have since upgraded to the HKS one... but can't tell a difference so far).

Water and oil lines all work, you just have to bend them up a little bit to make them fit. I have since also installed some rubber house in my water lines to make it easier for them to go on and off the car. (used 5/16 oil cooler hose)

You do have to shave a good bit off the back of the motor mount. I'd have a pnumatic die grinder or a roto zip avaliable. (Dewalt angle grinder will do nicely here as well). It's a bit much to take off with a dremel (if that gives you any idea how much material you have to pull off).

I guess that's about it, I cut up my stock hot pipe and made it fit the GT25R, just cut it down on the ends, and cut it in the middle so you can flip the 90 degree elbow around to face the turbo. I spliced in a length of 2in ID 'belt pipe' from NAPA and it all worked out pretty good IMHO.

For the intake I used (2) 3in ID 90 degree elbow's to adapt it to my Z32 MAF. And I also machined down the turbo inlet to 3inches so I wouldn't have to buy a 4in to 3in adaptor. But either way works just fine.

The GT2540 or GT25R (some sites call it) has the NS111 turbine and either a .64 or .86 A/R exhaust housing. The compressor wheel, I am unsure of exactly. I believe it is a 60-1. The compressor cover is TO4S. The NS111 flows about as well at a stage III T3 turbine in a .63 A/R housing. This means you can flow enough for about 460 crank HP. The Compressor wheel, if it is what I think it is.. can flow more than that. There is a speed mismatch between the two wheels, but the little bit of lag it gives isn't a big deal when you take into consideration how much power it can make. The trick is to run an external wastegate. The internal is too small, and doesn't allow enough total flow through and around the turbine to make good power. With an external gate, and good tuning, you can achieve 400whp at around 17-19psi. It's been done before. I am building Adam (Gladius') car.. here's some pics of it..

Still building it.. I'll post finished pics soon. The only mod that has to be done.. is to shave about 3/8" on the motor mount bracket for the compressor housing to clear.. It took me all of 5 minutes to do. Very easy. Other than that.. it's pretty much bolt on.Travis

A side point, a good O2 housing will help flow out the wastegate area a lot. Somthing like the Greddy one that has 2 seprate channels and makes a smooth merger can help flow a lot. I know a few people making 390rwhp with that. But I do think that to get much over that you'd be better to go external.

I'd do it but I don't want to deal with the added expense and spend the time to do it (what can I say I'm lazy).

Well Paul...What manifold are you using since you said your OBX one cracked? I really want a good one, but 900 is quite a pile of bones that I have to give away.

I say extrude hone the stock one, and you're fine. Did I mention that those guys hitting 400whp are using the stock mani? It actually flows pretty well.. and extrude honing it will make it much better.Travis

Extrude honing is the process of forcing a gritty playdough like substance through intakes/exhausts/whatever, that smoothly and evenly ports the part.

I just hand-ported my stock mani, took the little nissan emblem's that are cast into it out, also got rid of all the lumps in there and as much of the rough casting as I could.

Then I got the thing Jet-Hot coated black.

Looks and runs nice.... sounds kinda like a DSM now.... before it sounded more like a sport bike..... but I'll get used to it I'm sure.

Hand port? Do you just basically sand the ports down so it's a little bit smoother? What about the Enjuku's header one? It's only 300 and it looks evil. Why do those kind of tubular exhaust always crack???

Movingviolation240, do you have any pics of your GT25R install that you can post? I'm having some trouble visualizing what you did with your hot pipe.

driveway, just cut and hose clamp it or weld it. It's not hard to custom make hoses.

Yea I've made hoses before. I just wanted to see what it all looked like when it was done.

Because steel cannot withstand the expansion and retraction from being heated up over and over. Cast iron is much more forgiving.

Do they make cast iron aftermarket exhaust?
