Whats the deal with these aftermarket grounding wires people get for their car. What exactly do they do other than ground the car. What is the best brand.

SBD I can't believe you haven't said anything in here yet... the grounding kit improves a lot from what I hear. Better and faster shifting, even better sound quality?

That's exactly the outcome when you put grounding wires on (for me atleast). Don't get the ground wires kit from Ebay. Sentientbydesign sell them for cheap with good quality.

In theory what they do is supposed to clear up any disturbance in the transmission of signals in the car. Whether its true or not, the jury is out there. I think it has helped the most on the older AT cars.

Anyone that has bought a set of Grounding wires from SentientByDesign has only had good things to say. I was skeptical of getting them for my Altima Coupe, but check out some discussions regarding them -

Here is a link to the Fabricator's Market where you can find SBD's contact info and prices:

Here are a couple G discussions too:

Wow Louis

Thanks for the links!!!

Justin,

Grounding wires serve to improve the state of the electrical systems on your vehicle. The goal with every kit (however unsuccessful many may be) is to improve electrical flow, reduce impedence, stabilize voltage, and reduce electrical noise.

My customers have witnessed the following improvements:

Improved throttle responseImproved automatic transmission shifting (faster in manual mode, smoother in Drive)More precise engagement and disengagement of VDCFaster engine rev upCleaner/Louder audioOther random electrical fixes (faster rear camera startup, Faster HID warm up, steering column controls "magically" start working again.)

Let me know if you have any questions.

Erik,

I thought you guys all went extinct or converted to believers lol. I have way too many threads on here and emails with success stories for the results to be "theoretical".

I told my wife the other day that I keep waiting for somebody to be unhappy with the results, but (thank God) that hasn't happened. I'm starting to believe that I just built a really good product and the quality of the materials makes a HUGE difference.

John,

4drmadness and I swapped out his suspension over the course of the weekend. The rears were done Saturday night. The fronts we "finished" last night (1 am). I had a car meet at Super autobacs yesterday morning. I'm sorry for not calling you to tell you about it. I don't think I have your number in my new phone.

Thanks for jumping in
