The grounding kit install should be pretty easy. Just a bunch of wires and bolts. The ECU connection might prove to be a pain though.

The pulleys don't have to be replaced. A lot of guys do to release more HP to the wheels. Do a search and you'll find a couple of really good threads on the pulleys including under drive and non-under drive.

And to add to that you will want to order from a well known place like

groundinggear.com

When installing your grounding wires, let me know and I can help you if you get stuck.

I have the stillen kit but it doesn't have any wires going to the transmission (I hear the grounding gear kits helps with shifting). Can someone tell me where the wires are connected to the transmission and I will fab my own????????

groundinggear looks like they hvae one out for the G37. Does anyone know/think this would make an improvement on on a 6MT G37?

It won't make as big a difference as in the AT. But from what I have read here

http://groundinggear.com/image...8.pdf

That's some persuasive feedback from MT owners...I myself am considering this mod..

the Wire Kit should be the same for most everyone. Better feel and better engine respone/management. The only difference with 5AT and 6MT is who is shifting.

I'd say everyone should do this mod based on electronic usage in our cars.

Ok i've found a 6 wire kits from Stillen and have seen 8 wire ones and 10 wire ones. What is the difference between the number of wires and what do you suggest. I have a 6MT and I saw that groundinggear.com has a set for the G37 on there for $150 but not sure how many wires. Also saw Stillen has a special price of $89 on their 6 wire for the G35 which I heard will fit the G37. Please set me straight, thanks

Isn't that the only improvement the 5AT guys have been talking about. Better shifts?

The stock grounding points are itty bitty. You get more engine responce and faster revs with no negitive side effects for only $90. Just get the damn thing.

yes, quite a bit better. At least one of the extra wires is for the ECU, which should help quite a bit.

All in all, just helps keep voltage regulated for all electronics and can only make improvements over the miniscule stock grounds.

I'd also recommend a Gel Cell Battery when it comes time for another battery.

Auto has 10 wire and MT has the 8 wire kit correct?

John, stop making these wires sound so great. You're giving me mod itch!

I am actually tempted to contruct a kit myself. I'm not sure how 25 feet of copper wire and a central brace warrants $150.

Any comments?

Well, if you've seen the pic i put up, you could just use that as a starting point and wire it up. Thing is, you want to use 4 gauge wiring, crimp some good ends on, I bet you'll spend $60 on wire...maybe more. Copper prices keep going up. A few years ago i bought 0 gauge for $3/ft. A few months back when I installed my stereo I think it was like $8.50/ft.

Thats much thicker wire of course, but still...

Well, its very true that the dollar is losing value rapidly....

But the cost of copper has been skyrocketing as the biggest open copper mine (Kennecot) here in Utah is diminishing. Demand is still high while supply is dwindling...

I'm going to make one this weekend. Maybe I'll make a few and see if anybody wants to buy them from me.

Or maybe make a kit that adds the ecu grounding to the stillen kit? That'd be nifty.
