But the to the down and dirty, my end goal is to have the fastest CA in the U.S then the world. Wish me luck.curring running stock internals with a spec r T28 with a microtech ecu until I get around to pulling the motor out to build. I have sorting out the suspension and rear end.Car is a 72 datsun 1200, cage is complete and will be certified for up to 8.50's.

You're not the first to make such a claim.

Welcome and good luck.

I can agree with you there, however I doubt those who stated the same didn't have my background. Also I'm building this for me and to run against my father who has a 9 sec corolla. So I have my eyes set on this goal.

there were a few in the nines a few years ago.

In Japan Dyuvan is still campaigning one it seemshttp://www.dyuvan.com/6p.html

Rhombus in the states is still trying to sell this onehttp://www.yellowmunsontuning.com/PT67CA18.htm

Norris over in europe runs this onehttp://www.norrisdesigns.com/demo-s13.asp

Not sure what Pady is doing these days, they used to run what I believe to be the quickest CA in the world at the time. Their site is all jacked up right now and the vids and demo car info is missing.

As the CA18 fades into history it should be easier to build one that can take the title. With like six of them seriously competing your odds improve.

From what I gathered in a few months I have honestly looked into I have found a silvia in the 10's and the aussie 1200 ute in the 9's.

And the car will still be insured and tags up to date as I will still take her out for sunday drives.

I know it will not be a easy task but I am up for it. Once I reach the point where I can no push her anymore and I am still not at my goal I might have to cross to the sr land. As a few of my buddies have some serious drag sr's here in socal.

Ah the joys of SR ownership.oil spraybars and rocker arms. 60s technology seen in the L. The L worked though, Nissan somehow managed to forget how to do it right.

Some guy from Panda Garage got in touch with me to get them a 4 port head. They said some CA GOD from Japan was going to help them build the world's fastest CA.

Haven't heard from them in awhile. Unfortunately I deleted their emails.

That thing is painfully efficient at 60lb/min. Solid ~68lb/min at a PR of 2.5 and still just on the edge of that center island. When could I expect to spool that, 7000rpm? haha.

I want one but I'll never need that much screw. If I seriously thought I wanted or more importantly could build and tune a CA18 to 700+ HP sure but at some point I have to be honest with myself I'm looking at a ball bearing TO4S, 550hp and a lighter rotating assembly riding on ball bearings sounds like the ticket.

Ya I know, that's a problem we currently have with my dads ke15, hard to keep 542whp going str8 with a 90" wheelbase.I will be tinkering with suspension to keep the chassis as str8 as possible going down the 1320.

First plan is to reach the limit on the spec r t28. I have a new t04e 57 trim .82 a/r waiting to put in but need to make the manifold first.

Hey TMS at that price I know where there are six four port euro heads sitting on a shelf. I could probably buy all six pretty cheap

seems to me like with the money it'd cost to make the fastest CA in the world you could build an engine the rapes the pistons out of even the nicest CA.

nice, i'm sure you're the first one to think of that.

regardless, to become better than anything that is the best in the nation, much less the world, will take a considerable amount of money. i bet for what you put into this project, if you come anywhere near your goal, you could have put an ls1 in the same chassis and beat the CA.

i'm sure you could turbo / super the ls1 for the cost it will take you to get the CA to your goal.

but anyways do not let me knock your dreams, i for one would be excited to see the outcome. goodluck.

There's always room for others with high aspirations for their CA18DET powered projects. Your car's weight will give you a significant edge over the S-chasis guys and this may or may not sit too good with them as well. Most folks on this forum are interested in the S-chasis cars which are a natural home for the CA series engines. Even for my B12 chasis sentra, the CA is a natural home because in Japan and other countries, it came with a CA16/CA18DE engine in certain sport models. Now for your Datto that weighs next to nothing, the only thing they will be admiring is the engine and your tuning, so I can understand why you say you wanna have the fastest CA in the U.S. and then the world. So I wish you luck with caution, that won't be such an easy task because the U.S. have guys like myself and some of my customers as well as other members on this forum who got projects that they are working on that will pack a punch. I'm pretty sure that if I take those engines that I've built and tuned and put them in say an ugly little Datun B210 or a Datsun 510, that power to weight thing won't be an issue. Good luck with your quest and rest assured, guys like myself that can build a fast car don't brag, I just bring it .

I don't care about how fast you can do a 1/4, you could put a ca in a go kart. I'll respect a dyno sheet and mod list much much more.
