a 1/4 mile time and trap speed is a pretty decent way to measure HP as long as you know the weight of the car.

Yes sir you are correct, I'm not a bragger myself, I let the time slip speak for its self once its done.No dyno queens here, the car will be complete with everything.Toyota? No one said anything about me running a ca in a toyota. I am a toyota man but I don't cross breed. My father has a 9 sec corolla so that's my push to get to where I need to be.

No disrespect to the others out there, its all in fun. I run for the slip in my hand at the end of the 1320 and nothing more.

in reality it is much better...... as it takes into account driver, suspension, and power to the ground. 1000HP dyno queen is nothing impressive when it runs mid 12s.....

Your car's weight will give you a significant edge over the S-chasis guys and this may or may not sit too good with them as well. Most folks on this forum are interested in the S-chasis cars which are a natural home for the CA series engines. Even for my B12 chasis sentra, the CA is a natural home because in Japan and other countries, it came with a CA16/CA18DE engine in certain sport models. Now for your Toyota that weighs next to nothing, the only thing they will be admiring is the engine and your tuning, so I can understand why you say you wanna have the fastest CA in the U.S. and then the world. So I wish you luck with caution, that won't be such an easy task because the U.S. have guys like myself and some of my customers as well as other members on this forum who got projects that they are working on that will pack a punch. I'm pretty sure that if I take those engines that I've built and tuned and put them in say an ugly little Datun B210 or a Datsun 510, that power to weight thing won't be an issue. Good luck with your quest and rest assured, guys like myself that can build a fast car don't brag, I just bring it .

Dee

My apologies my friend! Too much jet lag had me thinking Toyota (Dee's clone slaps him stupid), man. I'm with Tim, put the car together and go have some fun with it.

looks like my car just a touch smaller.what are you looking for weight wise?i need to get mine on a scale but it should be ~2100lbs

looking forward to seeing what you do.

I have a track day in 2 weeks with my T28 CA18 510, wonder how much faster you will run with the same setup in a lighter car. then again im setup for road race and autocross.

Well a pl510 has a few hundred lbs on the 1200.The 1200 sedan in complete stock form us 1597. With the unnesscessary items no longer on the car and with the addtion on a bigger motor/transmission/rear end and caged I see the car with me in it at about 1800-1900lbs.

I do not plan on removing any glass or cutting anything up.

A disadvantage your 510 has is the irs as she will toe a ton out the hole, but I have seen some irs z's/510's set up for drag and they were a terror at the strip.

Ya jet lag will do that to you, I've had my share of lag back and forth from japan to los angeles and my worst was from saudi arabia to l.a lol

I'm surprised your not going to cut. Fitting rubber in the back of these small datsuns is pretty hard without tubs in the back.

Ya it is hard to run rubber. On my fathers corolla he refused to cut and the only thing we could fit was a 24.5x8 and a 24x9.We are now in with toyo and they have a 25x9 that we managed to fit .

Once I narrow my h190 rear end to suit the wheels with proper backspace I can fit 25's and even 26's in nice and tight.
