Great Northeast S-chassis Spring Meet, June 7th 2009

Hey Jacki because there are so many of us here in Philly lets keep it here. It has major arteries and and out unlike other parks. Its close to bridges, turnpikes, interstates and its a city with the park space. Washingtons Cross is a big park yes, but not as far as parking is concerned.

Well, I'd say that if it's going to be a local Philly event, then you all should get crackin. You def know the area better than any of the rest of us. I'd love to help with the planning, but you bet the event will be a lot closer to me if I did!

Scranton or FDR?

Ive been to a couple meets at FDR def capable of holding alot of cars/people. This needs to be set up quick by people who live in that area!!

Also could you provide a overview of the area. and use your mad tyte MS paint skillz and draw a circle where the meet is? lol. Veterans stadium looks so big on google maps. we should go there. lol.

Ghost, Veterans stadium has been gone for yeeaaaars. LOL it's Lincoln Financial Field and Citizens Bank Park now.

I'm guessing noon would be a good time. FDR park. I'll work on a map later tonight as well as directions. April 19th is the date, and the 26th will be the rain date. As we get closer I will keep everyone informed of the weather for those weekends so that we all know for sure wheich weekend it will be.

If anyone has any ideas, feel free to share.

Alright, so it's officially officialized now? I'll see what I can do about getting it added to the National events page. Long as it works out and I can make it I'll try and grab a NICO banner and a tent and hawk some t-shirts... and promote the Fujii SPL of course too...

Noon it is!. Trying to get a possible cruise down to. swap meet wouldnt be a bad idea either, as im coming with some stuff .

When i get home later im going to ask Greg (AZhitman) If i can make NICO stickers to sell for 2-3bucks each. i hav a plotter at my girlfriends...

Also what about food? I know the manager of walmart locally so i can get 30 or so pounds of hamburger... and one of you locals could bring a grill, bc i am NOT bringing my small charcol for 200 poeple

No Wal-mart burgers. I am in Philly and I own HUGE charcole grill. I could bring it down with my truck but then how to I show off my car? Perhaps its better to buy cheap grill or two and leave it behind if need be?

But Jacki the weather will be so so around those dates. Hopefully not too cold. So other then just meeting, grilling, and having as cruise what else may be in mind?

We could have S13 vs S14 kickball or football. Or other activities.

Pending turn out would you guys mind kicking in a few dollars for the food, drinks, and other items.

Its a public park. Were not just gonna be parking there, were going to be using the park too. So its kind of what its there for to be used. As long as were not just hanging out in the parking lot and actually using the park what could they possibly say?

Football would be great since i was linebacker in 7th-12th grade. bring it lol. nah freaking small compared to what i used to be (220 pounds now)

Replyign to what Kevin said, do you guys think maybe a later date would be better considering weather?

If I remember right, there are a few grills in the park, but maybe bringing our own is a good idea anyway, just in case.

I'm hoping people ca bring a little bit of everything from burgers and hot dogs, to drinks, and snacks and all kinds of stuff. This will avoid any one person having to buy everything his or herself and expecting people to pay a few dollars like TAON did last year. I don't know how they made out, but I think it's better for everyone to bring something.

we should make a list of who plans to attend and who is bringing what that way we can have some obligation for each person coming. if you make it later just make sure its not the same as carlise which is in may i think its like 15thish?
