wow. he shouldn't have mouthed off to the cop, though. A lesson that will do you good:

If someone thinks they have power / upper hand, let them believe that...

If you lived here and saw how many cars are on the road you would understand. I mean if I want to go to a fast food place that's like 3 miles from my house between 4:30-6:00pm, I don't even try because It will take me at least 30 min. because of the traffic. In cali, we have so many people and not much of a public transportation system compared to other big cities. SoCal is getting polluted enough as it is WITH the regulations. So, even though I don't like the laws myself, I can understand the justification for them.

hey youre not the only ones with traffic like that. If i want to drive to the other side of my town (1/2 mi) during those hours, it takes about the same time. I have to cross 3 lanes each side of madness behind a bus etc.

Where do you live? I hear parts of Texas get really bad.

BTW, back to the post. I read the whole thread and I feel for the guy, but from the way he told it, it sounded like he was being rude with the cop.

honestly, going on his writing style, he seems like an arrogant jackass to begin with, but there shouldn't be much problem getting it thrown outta court, well, other then the header, though it might fall into reasonable cause and all that jive.

perhaps he won't get an attitude with the judge...

Mr1der, chances are, he will. Woe is he. The stars align against him!

Anybody who complains about police abuses is himself an abuser of written law, looking to point the finger elsewhere.

I don't understand what you guys are talking about.

The cop was a huge ****. How the hell should he act.

Instead of attempting to do real work, this macho-rambo-cop decided that the State of California would best be served by giving this guy a ticket for having headers.

And it's a good thing that he pulled this kid over because who knows how many innocent people could have been murdered with this guys exhuast and headers. I mean if the cop didn't spend all that time, I'm pretty sure the guy would have been stabbing people with his exhaust. :rolleyes

What a douche

I think Florida would be the best combination place to live. You got beaches and whatnot, and no emmisions. I find a lot of stuff in Cali to be a little much. I understand them wanting to control things and others don't want others imposing on them, but by having laws such as that they are imposing on the other residents who do not wish to live by said rules. Oh well majority rules and minority suffers tis the way it goes.

Woah... Thats not a generalization or anything is it?

Personally, I think that so long as your car passes smog, you should be good to go. Noise regs are a different issue, and they make sense, to an extent.

the point is, if he would have shown the officer some respect maybe acted friendly towards him , the cop might have just written it off as a warning , not all cops are out to get you they maybe just telling you to watch yuor back and when they are confronted with a blunt response that isnt very welcoming they will strech your arse out as far as they can.

and you never i repeat never argue with a officer on the site, that isnt the proper time nor place , your arguement is for the court room you politly entertain him and then fight the battle where it can be won.

You do realize there are police officers on this site, and other law enforcment personnel???

People have no concept on how to interact with police officers. It amazes me on this. Even if the officer is wrong, you should not be a smart *** to him. That is just not intelligent. If he is wrong, prove it in court.

BUT.....I do understand the frustration of harassment by LEO's as I have been there. A local jurisdiction has a burr up their butts for sport bike riders. They harassed us on a continual basis. But as many of the guys I use to ride with learned, being a butt head only gets you a ticket, where as not being one may get you out of one. Acting like you have some upbringing and showing a little bit of respect will go a long way.

People need to use their heads a little better.

I totally side with the guy. I mean c'mon, it was obviously a case of the WHITE man holding him and his people DOWN! You know the cop was thinking, "Ahyuck, there goes when of them dern chicnkers." and pulled him over because of his nationality, never mind his undoubtedly loud fartcan that breaks the well-established and purposeful law in two ways.

For real dawg! f*** the police! Why are they always going driving around in their stupid V8 cars enforcing the laws that our representatives made? They should be like, solving world hunger our something.

Not only should the ticket be wiped off, but the poor victim and his entire family should be heavily comepnsated for the blatant racist actions of that bigoted "pig."

Yeah, the public interest is best served by making sure people don't have an exhaust on their cars. Oh the horror.

It's not as if there are any crimes being committed in the state of California. :rolleyes . Yup of all the over 25 million people in California, this guy was clearly committing the worse crime. Murderers, rapists, theives, con-artists, pedophiles, drug dealers, people who do 140mph on the highway, no they don't need to be dealt with, what's really important is getting the guy with the non-CARB legal headers, for that is obviously the most serious crime.:rolleyes

Most, not all cops are just bully's on a power trip, they have small penises, their parents didn't love them enough, whatever. They seem to enjoy picking on people for no reason at all.

I've been pulled over by 8, yes 8 cops, I personally counted them, 8 dumbass pigs, for absolutly no reason at all.

Honestly, when cops pull me over for no reasone I try and be as condescending as possible. Why? Becuase I have the right to drive my car without being pulled over and interrogated. I paid for my car, I paid for my insurance, I paid for my license. So leave me the **** alone.

The last thing I need is some power-tripping, egotistical, John Wayne wannabe bugging me for no reason.

I posted the link for everyone to actually read the posts form a lot of people trying to help out.. there is a lot of good legal info on that thread..

second.. I have been known to mouth off at peoples especially cops WHEN everything on my car was STOCK! and I knew they couldn't get me for jack...

Now would I do it??? NOPE.. I am just going to say "yes, sir" and be on my way,

Another thing for you guys who are not CA res... Sooner or later, the laws WILL affect you too. CA is the testing grounds for all emmisions and new laws but eventually if not all, most of the states take them up....

We've all been harassed by a cop a time or two, but the majority of the people in authority that I have a conflict with, not just "pigs", are atleast reasonable aslong as you don't try to act like some high school hard a** that causes problems so he thinks he's cool. People reciprocate hostility.

And of course a ricer with a defeaning exhaust doesn't exactly endanger my immediate safety, but the fact remains that they were breaking the law. There was no mention of a triple homicide going on right next the the arrogant knob that got pulled over, so a comparison to a serious felony is pointless.

If you're Cali, you should appreciate this: Say somone stole your car, (not exactly rare from what I hear) and instead of chasing the guy down and trying to recover it, the cops just blew you off *just incase* Charles Manson escaped and was roaming the streets of your town? The car is just an object and can be easily replaced and doesn't do too much harm in the long run.

The law is the law, and some cops will always be bad apples but they might not be so jaded if every freaking crater-faced kid with an attitude kid they pull over gave them s***. Not pointing fingers specifically but just in general...God knows I would like to beat half the people I see driving with a bat as it is, much less having to give them tickets. =\

Yeah I'm sure that of all the things the cop could have been doing this was the most usefule to the public.:rolleyes

What are you talking about "just incase" california has around over 20 000 murders a year, plus all the other serious crimes. but of course his Pacesetter headers pose the greatest threat.

So what if other kids are d1icks to the cops. By that logic cops should be able to pull over and harass all black people because one was not nice to him.

If cops weren't such d1icks to people, people wouldn't be d1cks back.

But if a cop pulls me over for no reason, you better beleive I'm going to be a **** to him. Why? Because I have rights.

They include

-the right to unreasonable search and seizure-the right not to be arbitraily detained

So they next time a cop pulls you over for no reason, give him as much attitude as possible, why? Because he is infringe on your rights!!

Oh and btw, most of those emission laws are bs, nothing more than cashgrabs.

I've never, in my time spent browsing NICO, seen such a display of stupidity, arrogance, and ignorance.

Every time you people act this way, I take it personally, because good friends of mine serve local precincts. To read this garbage you post.. it's sad and pathetic.

How will you ever be able to interact in a world of laws and rules, if you hold such contempt for people in authority?

Only until they say too much. People with power like to hear themselves. As soon as they stick their foot in their mouths, that's when you open yours. Dealing with cops is like playing p0ker - "you have to know when to hold em, know when to show them, know when to walk away, and know when to run."

I have 4 friends who are cops. So what?

Yes, keep talking back to them. Don't take their stupid ****, if enough people complain, something will happen.

Everytime you let a cop get away with this ****, you let them think it's ok. If it was anybpdy else you wouldn't take it. Why should you take it from cops? They work for you, not the other way around.

SmithSR what's wrong with what I said?

Should people let cops just push them around for no reason? Why should I be nice to some pen15-envy driven moron who thinks he's god? You want to pull me over for doing nothing? You're damn right you're going to get attitude.

You know what maybe we should let them stop everybody for no reason. Maybe we should let them search our cars for no reason. Maybe we should let them search our houses for no reason. Hell let's give cops the keys to our cars and houses so that they can go as they please.

Would you accept it if a cop pulled up to your house, and started interrogating you for no reason? Hell no.

Read my post again, I, as a tax paying citizen have rights. And I'll be damned if some cop is going to take them away from me.
