Could you wire camera and radar to homelink wires?
Or use vanity light wires?
Would this screw up sensitive electronics, there are horror stories about extra goodies interfering with the computer.

i have seen that done- works fine. i personally like wiring right to the fuse box. its probably easier than fussing with the small wires/plug on the mirror.

i wish these were around, the days i responded with my POV. i have heard horror stories about accidents happening and of course who gets jammed up the most? the responder. every light, every split second will be called into question by an attorney looking for a major pay out.

Picking up my pair of dash cams from the post office yomorrow morning. I think im going to Mount one behind the rvm and the other in the rear windshield.

If i want to extend the wires for the one in the rear window is it as easy as a lightbar ImStricken?

just be careful (i learned the hard-way).
these camera's work on 5volts like any typical typical USB. BUT they dont regulate the car's incoming 12volts internally. they expect the cigarette lighter to do it. there is a small circuit board inside the large handle of the cigarette light plug. dont f-with it lol. if you want to extend the usb wire, just order a male to female MINI usb extension cord from ebay for a few dollars. it will save you a ton of time and trouble. i know this from personal experience ;)

So I got the cameras mounted and for the most part, the daytime vids look good. But is it me or do they suck at night? I think they will be pretty useless on a country road with no lights in the middle of the night. Here is my night time video (Don't mind the few times I swerve.... I'm missing potholes):

P.S. I just saw that video I posted, and for some reason it looks brighter than when I justwatch it on the laptop straight from the SD card. You can't see SH*T (you can't see the street mostly) until I uploaded it to youtube. I wonder why that is.... FWIW I recorded in "1080P". The next one up is "1080FHD". As far as settings go, I have the exposure set to +0.0 ..... Any ideas as to why it looks so black until I uploaded it to Youtube?

every video player has its own internal presets regarding video quality, and the settings.

if you want to make any video camera bright at night, you'll need infrared leds upfront like HUMVEE's have.

Hey guys! New Rogue owner here, and still checking out the site! I have the 2014 with the SL trim, which means I have the all-around view camera setup. I assume the front camera is "on" all of the time since it is used for the collision avoidance system. Is there anyway to just record this camera's feed?

Welcome. I have no idea about that. Probably way more expensive than the 27 dollar dash cam
