I was out racen this Honda Accord last night and he loved my 240 cause he was a previous owner of one. we were just sitting there and he said do you have the rev limiter taken off of 5th gear yet? and i said no. 5 mins later he had it out of my car. He did something under the center counsole. he had to go so i dont know what he did but i got his number and i know were he lives but now i can go way over 115. Weird huh??? what did he do??? my 240 is a 89 and he had an 89 also??

Hot diggety, find out what he did as soon as you can. The 115 M.P.H. limit is killing me.

You know, if you made a car, limited it to 115, but didn't tell anyone, I don't think people would even realize it. Its kind of like the forbidden fruit. You don't really need to drive that fast (unless your racing), but knowing you can't do it eats you up inside.

Kinda weird

Well, my rev limiter/governor are removed, and I hit 115mph in 5th at around 4,000rpms.I dont think it's very safe to have it posted here though. Having a ton of 240's without limits cruising around.

well i called him. and he told me not to tell anyone but i will anyways. he is comming over on thurs to show me how he did it. He said he got the idea from a manager at the nissan dealership here in st. cloud (were he works) if anyone says going over 115 is dangerous i agree with them but some times we gota do it just for the rush and i do know i could hurt someone doing it but always i try to be safe as i can.

It does not seem like a 5th gear rev limitor, it's like a governor. When I hit the 120 mark in 5th it just like hits something, it's odd, it's not a rev limitor. It does something else, I just don't know what. It's irritateing though, I usually i'm pulling so hard up to 120 that when it it's it feels liek I just smashed into something. I'd LOVE to get it removed, but i'm not going to risk damageing anything. I've heard of problems with trying to mess with the VSS and such.

What he did was cut the 8th wire from the left on your ECU, the yellow one w/ green stipe.

But verify that from your nissan man...

Maybe I'm just too into this, but does anyone read the f.a.q? its all right there....

This is a FAQ.

This was posted on the first page of this thread...People still asked the question. Why? sxse just posted AGAIN saying he just looked at the FAQ. So why doesn't everyone just look at the FAQ and not wait on some guy who already probably read a FAQ on some website to get info???

I have a 93 240 and thay have 2 limiters as you might all know. I had the one remoived it took some time to find the right Wire. But it was just the speed limiter and it only gave me like 2 more mph. I have been looking around forever on how to take the rev limter off with out getting the ecu reprogramed and came up with nothen. i would love to know how this guy did it.

1) I know it's insane, but I've gone up to and past 115 in my stock jetta with five people in the car including myself. Actually, I've gone up to 115 with five people in my old =95 corolla wagon, and did close to that everyonce in awhile.

I did 110 on the interstate for three weeks straight once a day (procrastinator-gave myself five minutes to get to work 20 miles away).

it's not exactly taboo, not any more at least. I don't drive nearly that fast now, but just b/c I got two tickets (not for those incidents, just a minor speeding ticket and a plates issue).

anyway, the point is, if you are a speed freak it doesn't matter, you'll go fast.

p.s., get the guy to give you the secret, common, get him drunk, he'll tell ya then;p

ok, anyway -sapix- people WOULD know pretty early, some people, actually quite a few would find out the first day they drove it.

p.s., there is virtually no police patrol in kentucky north of london and sounth of lexington on the interstate past 5pm

just cut a wire and see what happens. if you still have a speed limiter or the car doesn't work just twist the wires back together and try another.
