My buddy had a 1976 Camaro that was painted Razzberry purple. When the stock 305 spun a bearing at 200k + miles we built a awesome 400 small block for it with just about everything done to it. One of our buddies had a 1970 Chevelle with a 350 and 125 shot of nitrous. We could beat him on the juice. The car was so fast and fun to drive until it came time to pass emissions. Then the car sat for 5 years in a garage. Then 4 years outside. Then was sold to a 16 year old kit with big dreams for $400.
When I bought my '67 Camaro a coworker was selling his '69 Z28 w/RS package (hideaway headlights = WIN). It was stripped and primered, interior stripped, no rust holes. Motor was slightly warmed over (4sp) and it had Centerline's on it (he was throwing in the factory wheels as well). He was wanting 2600 for it (this was in 1990) which was more than I had, so, I ended up with the '67 rust bucket instead. What pissed me off is 2 months later he sold it for 1200 to get some Honda.
