yeah, I like the BRM setup, or you could just have the muffler shop weld a resonator before it joins the catback.

We're not all lucky enough to be related to people who work for the CHP. There is something out there that is nearly if not equally as powerful as a business card though. It is the CHP 11-99 Foundation. The foundation provides assistance to the CHP and their family members. It costs $1800 (tax deductable) to become a lifetime member. As a life time member of the foundation, you will receive a license plate holder that says Member 11-99 Foundation. As an added bonus, you also get a registration holder with the emblem on it, so that the cop will see it when you hand over your registration.

Now granted, being a member doesn't give you a license to drive like a moron. What it does do is pretty much eliminate the likelyhood that you'll be hassled, and given an unnecessary run around in the event that you are pulled over.

I'm thinking about coughing up the cash, because of the fact that the SR20DET is such an illegal motor. I drive well, stay in lane, stay with the flow of traffic, and generally try to be as good of a driver as I can. Despite all that, I realize that all it could take would be one CHP guy having a bad day, to seriously turn my world upside down.

And when considered as a lifetime investment, $1800 seems pretty affordable to not be hassled.

I teach Taekwondo and Krav Maga and have five friends that are/were officers here in Florida. One is a City of Miami Captain, one a FL State Trooper, one was a FL State Trooper now martial arts Master, one a City of Fort Lauderdale Detective and the other an ex-Broward County Deputy. They are all really cool people ... as for someone who comes in contact with them, just be yourself and honest and they'll remain level headed.

Now, my car is not what one would consider street legal :icesangel . Especially with the Apex GT spec cat-back rearing it's 115mm head out the rear as an open invitation (and it CAN be loud). However, I've been pulled over two times for "speeding" (... SHYAH!) and have never been asked to pop the hood. In fact, the first guy looked at my license and ended up living in my neighborhood so he felt obligated to let me go :ylsuper . The second guy took one look at my Krav Maga uniform and we ended up talking about the program . Turns out he's got two kids and is interested in the Taekwondo for them :) .

Anyway, my point (other than being wordy ... JEEZ WILYA PLEASE!), is that both checked out the car, commented on how nice it was and ended with "Drive safely!"

Heh, I love being me :D .

they have that here phax, but they only asked like 50 bux a year and you get a bumper sticker and something else instead. the fact that my car is registered as Mexican won't make that work though.

Well that CHP fund sounds like a good idea, but wouldnt it be a better idea to support a fund that can you help out iwth CHP & local p.d.? My freinds dad is a fireman and hes never gotten a ticket from teh CHP or the Sheriff, local p.d. Hes like 20xs crazier than i am and hes been stopped countless times sometimes by the same officers, he knows them by name now, and his freeway speed is about 95 avg on the 10 & 60 Freeway! I think that the same idea would apply to a fire dept fund, if there is one which im sure there is. The idea is that chp & local pd would be more lenient to you.

Also try the 100 Club - They are a charitable organization that assists families of fallen officers.

I'm a member, not because of a desire for any type of special treatment, but because it's the right thing to do.
