Now, what once sounded like a diesel sounds like a nice mellow bass. Running through the gears is a lot quieter so the neighbors and cops are happier, but the car has lost some of its magic. I can't hear the compressor surge that gave a nice WOOSH between gears on boost (ALMOST like a BOV) and the turbo is now a little laggier (but barely). I do like the car can be driven and the radio played at the same time tho;)

At least I can still hear the wg open...

Lol, im getting custom exhaust made saturday and getting the turbo rebuilt and the oil lines redone so it will finaly be running. But it will have ~2.75" downpipe and wherever it starts to get room it will be 3" the rest of the way with a test pipe in there so i can put in my cat for emissions. Im pumped :)

If u live near any shops that can build exhaust, get that done because its a lot cheaper. Im getting my full exhaust (downpipe, external WG screamer pipe, cat flangers, and full 3" back made for $450.

IS it possible to make a 02 housing that spilits the stock WG to vent to atmosphere?

Dont see why not, but it would cost a penny or 2. I would say it would be easier to weld a band seperating the chambers, then just making 2 different pipes. Im going to have to have my guys machine the back of the turbo 1/8" or weld the wastegate hole shut so that it doesnt leak.

One can be made, but I would advise against it.

Loud, smelly, leaky, more of a nuisance than an upgrade.

That's why I ran dumped for a couple of weeks :oface

The dumped integral wastegate will just emit a blatty tragedy of a sound. Seems like you should grab an e-cutout. :)

Depends on where it collects its exhaust from.

Not to steal you thread or anything rico, but I was wondering what is a decent test pipe(highflow cat, resonator, catalytic coverter...whatever) to run. Realy just looking for an opinion of what everyone thinks are decent companies to buy one from. Not really loking to spend over70-75 bucks on it.

Its easy enough to make your own systems, I made a 3" downpipe from the back of the turbo to the HKS system I had, it only cost me £30 and all you need is a day to line it all up and weld it, plus you don't need a heavy duty welder to make exhausts, a 130amp MIG will be fine.

Well also basic skills. Im paying 450 for full back. My wastegate collects off a tube that comes up in the main chambers where the runners meet. Its one of dees salty manifolds ;). After i get it done this weekend ill see if can make a sound clip.

What about the 02 sensor housing? How are you going to make the dp mate up to the back of the turbo? And won't you have to make a "step" to gro from the 2" housing to the 3" downpipe?

Well I had a t3 when I did it, so the pipe just clamps onto the back of the turbo and I welded a O2 boss onto the downpipe.

As for making one now, I've had a flash of inspiration and I maybe ditching the turbo altogether and getting an Eaton M62 supercharger instead, I can get a CA18DE manifold and make the rest of the system and it should be well easy!. :D

I think the CA's too small for supercharger, but I guess there really isn't such a thing either...

VW had a 1.8 and a 1.4 supercharged engine, and lets not forget I had a hoooge turbo on my old car, even the salesman at Turbo Technics called me a maniac. :D

But the most important thing is that its different, and I like that. :D

Plus it will be sweet for drifting!

Toyota and BMW have both mabe s/c 1.6l as well. No such thing as too small for forced induction.

I'm going for an Eaton M62 supercharger and its going to be mounted where the aircon pump is, I don't need aircon so its being binned!

Here is a quick question: Under moderate throttle, it vibrates a LOT cuz there is nothing holding the DP on but the 02 housing. I bet that this can cause some damage, so what can I do to hold it up for a month (when I order my SSAutochrome 02 housing, Yashio Factory dp and catback:))

If you need an Eaton M62 blower, I have one from a Mercedes SLK. It has 14K on it, and is in perfect shape.

It is virtually identical to the one on my Integra GSR JR kit, only the noce cone is shortrer (better for tight squeezes like the CA) and has a magnetic clutch.
