How did you rate your car when the active was working to spec?

Just curious.
I can't speak for him, but when I saw the car, he had just acquired it and the conversion was not done yet. I don't think it was ever to specification when he owned it. Hence the suspension replacement.

You can speak for me Brian because everything you said was exactly correct.:)

Whats the difference between a "full" conversion that Q45tech talks about and a minimal conversion that Dr.Q and Qship talk about. Lay it on me, and pull no punches.

The active ps pump has an additional in and out hose on it. You just cut one of the hoses and connect it back to the other side. That's the easiest part of the whole conversion. I don't know the difference between a full and minimal conversion. If mine wasn't full, I'd hate to see what full is.

Thanks, that is exactly the kind of advice I am looking for. No disrespect calling your conversion minimal. I was more refering to:

Where is the crank pulley and ps pump and ecu and idler and belts and all the other things that a COMPLETE conversion entails.

To me it seems like there are 2 types of Q45a owners, the purists and the survivalists. I am definately a survivalist. I am just trying to keep a car that is BER in its original configuration viable. I'm sure this will create some debate, but I think the fair market value of the latest model Q45a is about the same as most dealers quote to repair the suspension. The other bad thing is I don't think the functionality of the full active suspension was ever a long term proposition. Whatever the case, this forum is great, and if I can actually pull this off I will be amazed. Last add for this post:

"thats just my opinion, I could be wrong..."

BER?

Q45a functionality, like the car itself, is quite long when maintained. Sadly, most weren't, in part for the reason you mentioned now. Why owning these cars is not an investment as you will spend more than they are worth to maintain.

However, the savings from new is substantial and so are the rewards.

You don't have to change the ecu. The brain for the active suspension is in the trunk. It's on the passenger side beside the speaker.

Let me try a question on this thread, mine turned out to be a disaster. Regarding looping the ps pump, is the extra 'in' on the active ps pump the one that comes from the active fluid reservior and the extra 'out' the one that goes out to the accumulator? Since this then becomes a closed loop, how do you fill it?
