Got my 03 Infiniti M45 back with the new motor!

I had new struts put in on mine while it was being prepped for sale on our lot... it obviously did not fix the problem...

we are going to try the "Closure Assembly" and see if that does the trick

Let us know how that goes...maybe that is the true solution to the problem...

I highly doubt that if people have replaced the struts and have had very good results by doing it.I have seen LFJ2025's trunk pop up almost all the way with just replacing the struts.

Yes, the closure assembly is just to close it. The struts are definitely the issue - according to the local Infiniti dealer too.

If all else fails, Jason Burtman's product makes sense to install ...

well see, its to try...

my rear trunk struts were just replaced and it doesnt pop up enough to clear the closure device...

oh well...

My gas gauge seems to be a little off...is this something they would disconnect when installing the new motor?

The Factory struts are too weak, so replacing them with the same weak strut will not work. Burtman's kit is just two stronger pistons. Change one shock and the trunk will open about a foot. Replace both shocks and the trunk will open all the way.
