haha. I bought my last car with 88,000 miles and had it till 164,000 miles (7 years/my first car). It was a 99 Acura TL. That car has the least reliable transmission you can imagine and it never crapped out on me. That car was great to me. No major issues, always turned on, never had to get it towed or have work done to it that would leave me carless.

My current car I bought in June or July of this year, got it with 62,000 miles. I'll keep it for a longggg time especially since they seem VERY reliable.

My bro bought a 2001 M5 with 96K miles on the clock. As long as you keep up with maint. there is no reason why a car will fail on you. Some people make it sound like if you buy a car with over 100k, it might randomly blow up as you drive it.

Acura's are definitely very reliable. :yesnod

My wife had a 1997 Acura 2.2CL for more than 14 years ... no substantial problems (only thing it needed serious work on was a radiator that cracked and needed replacement) till the transmission finally died in December a year ago. I'd say that it was the least troublesome car I have ever seen!

Of course, since my wife loved her Acura, the replacement was a 2011 Acura TSX that she also likes a lot.

I am, of course, an Infiniti fan, so I tried to convince her to get a G25 or G35, but it is her choice, ultimately, so she went for the TSX. :)

Nice. Well for some reason the 2nd Gen acura TL (1999-2003) had transmission recall. Acura would change transmission for 8 years/70000 miles cause it was so bad. If you google it, you will see how terrible they were. I was also part of an Acura forum back when i had it and you would see people posting about their failed transmission. Some people had their transmissions replaced 3 times in 5 years. Luckily the 99' tl had a 4 speed transmission that did not give that much problems as the 00' - 03' 5 speed transmission.

I will say this again, I am very happy with my purchase of this M45 and I drive it very confidently knowing it is very reliable and could handle a good beating. Of course I do the maint. to prevent problems. Need to change the oil next week.
