to make a long story short, an 89 honda civic hatchback tried to pull a honda move from about 75 mph. he got the jump buy about a carlenght so i started to pull him back in and pass him up.:ylsuper now here comes the sad part: i hit the govener at 115 and he just blew by me!!!!! WTF!!!!!:thumbd anyway. it was a cool race but i could've won but i hit the gov. and lost. can anyone help me figure out how to remove the speed limiter without having to buy the comp. upgrade. i posted a tread a couple of weeks ago to see if anyone could help me but no one replied. hopefully someone will hear my cry for help and let me in on some nissan secrets. thanx guys.

nissan's that get beat buy honda's :thumbd

I hope that was on the 10 or the 15, there are too many cops on the 215 to be doing that.

Where about in Rancho do you live? My buddy lives off Milliken and he has a high 12 second Z31 (stock ECU) that I go out cruising with a lot. He goes down to Ontario a lot.

You can cut the wire going to the ECU that tells is the speed you are at. There is an article on how to do this on either 240sx.org or the FAQ section here. and what DOES BPU stand for?

so you cut that wire and from what your telling me is that you will no longer know what your speed is anymore? "You can cut the wire going to the ECU that tells is the speed you are at."

No, the trans tell the speedo what the speed it, the speedo tells the ECU. then the ECU sees you are at the limit and cuts off the engine. you will still know. this was a major problem one guy posted. he said to disconnect the wire leading to the transmission. this ends up with the limiter beat but the speedo not working.

BPU is some gay coin phrase used to say Basic Performance Upgrade. Some ******* put like a copyright on it. I think it's just a chip,exhasut,headers..or something like that.

its any upgrade with out going into the engine, or adding forced induction if it did not come factory...so a supra would be stock turbos and stock internals...and a honda would just be stock internals.

basically bolt-ons, clutch/flywheel, etc

I would love one of those cars, jut because it would be a hell of a sleeper. I'd much rather prefer a CRX, A guy around here has one with an extensively modified h22a, totally stock on the outside, except for the exhaust, but even the rims are stock, except for a set of nitto drag radials. He's supercharging it next week, that's gonna be a sick ride.

wingzero, a H22 in a Rex is nice, but the ride confort will be -10 due to the light a$$ body that the Rex has. It's like you are riding on the motor, crazy huh? I'm scared of riding on something going that fast and no weight on the ground. My old civic was scary enough for me. :)

Some jerk tried to run on me at a light tonight. I was in my toyota tacoma '97 4x4. some ricers never ever ever ever learn. When a guy in a truck sees that you're an idiot, and then procedes to own you, you should drive into a ditch and die.

wtf is with putting on hazards when you win? i think it's pretty gay, especially when they zoom past after you slow down for safety with their hazards flashing...i think they should install a new feature on all cars that only allow the hazards to be engaged when the car has a mechanical malfunction...

How do you remove the speed limiter?

After reading the first solution I looked into finding a simpler solution. Best of all, everything can be done at the computer. My car is a 89 with a 96 ka24de, but all the wiring and computer is 92. On my computer, there is a yellow wire with green stripe, 8th one over from right on harness. This is the vehicle speed sensor signal. Cut that wire. That is it. If you have a California car I think it will trigger a code, but for the rest of us, it is an easy trick. Your speedometer will still work because the signal comes from the transmission, goes to the gauges, THEN feeds the computer. I had to find a solution because my car comes very close to the speed limiter at the end of the 1/4. If anyone can beat the revlimiter let me know. I'm working on it.

aight, there it is. and the guy who wrote that also said how to remove the rev limiter. but he hasnt tried it yet. so when he gets some testing done, he'll post it.

I think the flashing of hazards and flashing your lights behind someone has its origins in Japanese street racing.

well, that's a little more info that i could use. i'll try it tomarrow. but there is 2 rows of wires on the harness. do i cut the yellow/green wire on the top part or the bottom part of the harness?
