to be honest with you i really dont know. i just read what the guy wrote. i'd count and see which one is the 8th from the right, and if the one on the bottom is also the 8th, i really dont know what to do. i'll get the guys email for you.

well..........i tried cutting the 8th wire over on the right. the one with the green one with the yellow stripe. i punched it on the freeway and my car will not go past 4500 rpm's. by not being able to go past 4500 rpm's i mean that a rev. limiter kicks in not letting me go any higher than that. i taped that wire back up and cut the 8th wire over on the bottom row this time. everything is back to normal but top speed limiter is still at 115mph. anyone care to help a nissan guy out?:D

I was afraid of this.... That mod for the speed limiter cut only works for the 16V motor, not the 12V. I don't have a 12V FSM so I can't tell you which wire it is, but if you had access to one, all you would have to do is look at the ECU pinout, find which wire is the speed sensor input, and cut that wire. Good luck!

I just had an idea for the 5th gear rev limiter. I don't have a 16V anymore so I can't try this, but here is my thought. If you get underneath the car and find the 4th and 5th gear switches on the transmission, and cut the wires coming out of the 5th gear switch and splice them into the 4th gear switch wires, the car would never think you were in 5th gear, thusly letting you take the car to redline in 5th and not have to worry about the limiter. Anyone wanna test my idea? If I had a car that moved I'd try it, but no clutch for me.....

There is no 4th and 5th gear sensors. There is only two limiters on the car. One is a speed limiter. The other is a rev limiter. Your car shuts down in 4th gear at less than redline because of the speed limiter, not the rev limiter. Same goes with 5th gear.

The only way around it is to cut the speed sensor, but then you also loose your speedometer too. Either that, or get a JWT ecu.

As for racing the Honda....Did you *see* the engine? Did you verify it was the stock D16? I've had plenty of Honda gurus claim they had basic bolt-ons, but what they don't tell you is they are basic bolt-ons on a B18, and their car weighs 1600 lbs.

It doesn't suprise me one bit that a Honda beat you. A 240SX is not exactly what I would call quick. And a tastefully modded Honda *is*.

actually torry the 240 has 2 gear sensors and a lower redline in 4th and 5th. Even after you get rid of the speed sensor by cutting the yellow and red wire on the harness (speedo still works BTW) you will have a lower redline in the top 2 gears. If you unplug them you should be fine.

Exactly. Hence the problem with cutting just the spedo wire, is you only get to about 6grand in 5th and then the rev limiter kicks in. Kinda sucks.... I've got a 12V now, so I don't have a FSM to look at the wiring diagrams to see how it's set up. I'm replacing the clutch right now, so I'm going to try the gear sensor thing when I get it back together.
