LOL...it seems we've found a solution to the legal woes of our California NICO members! ;)

I live in FL too and I pass at least one police station every day and pass plenty of cops every day too. I have an N1 which as you know can be pretty loud. I guess when you pass a cop and he is in a bad mood or something and he sees your exhaust blinging he will pull you over. Most of the cops I know will just use the whole "exhaust" excuse just to legally pull you over to see if you have been drinking or something like that. And just give you a warning.

Hehe.. I've never asked her to write off one of my tickets; feel like im taking advantage of her for that.. would just feel weird if i said plz sign this off.. and whatever I get a ticket for ive gotten myself into..

it does have its perks.. I get a nice little card in my wallet with her name on it and most of the chp around here know who she is..

I got pulled over for exhibition of speed; he took my info & gave me a ticket for:

illegal lights [nozzle washers, thx for not making any comments

exhaust [which was dropped]

no smog device

So I actually got let off easy.. just a fix it ticket.. got my car smogged and paid $93 for the ticket/court fees.. not too bad considering I could have gotten a ticket that would be on my record and jack my insurance..

I got a "50 state legal" statement from Tanabe when I purchased my exhaust that I keep in my glove-box if some a$$hole cop tries giving me grief--it's worth a try to use.

But, my exhaust has always been pretty quiet--and is now a lot quieter ever since I turbocharged my engine.

I actually just got out of a $167 speeding ticket today by going to court.

Actually though, the cop that pulled me over and gave me the ticket said I was doing 48 in a 40 zone (I was in my 18 year old Volvo stationwagon with my sister going to the mall, and the road is like a mile long straightaway and very wide). But, when the pig gave me the ticket, he didn't write down my actual speed OR the posted limit. And he didn't use radar because I had my R/D on and it didn't go off. So when I go to court today, the prosecutor has a copy of the ticket--and it says I was doing 58 in a 40 and that the guy got me with radar--which means that SOB cop just completely changed the ticket around because he knew he had nothing on me. Oh well, I got outta it :) Wow, that was a nice digression.
