w1ngzer0 - It's a guy off here that is selling it. He said he hasn't raced it and that he hasn't gotten it over 5000 RPM. So I'm guessing it would be alright, but i still want to see pics before I decide anything. He said he would throw in the transmission for $50, but i'm not sure that my transmission was ****ed up when it threw the rod.

lol i was gonna buy that engine, but i would rather buy other parts first and make the new engine last

absolute BS. i don't beleave that. Let me guess you also think higher octane cleans the carbon deposits too right?

yes that is bs carbon is the hardest known substance what makes you think its gonna break just from a little pressure and heat, if it did your exhaust would be shooting diamonds. wouldn't that be a sight. if you wanna clean out the car, go get some top end cleaner and run it SLOWLY through a vacuum source. Reason for the vacuum source is so it gets the manifold clean as well, not just the injectors

I wish my exhaust would shoot diamonds :\ Finding money to fix my car would be a lot easier then.

lol amen to that brother. Doesn't need to be diamonds just $100 in quaters in a cup per rev

yes i did, i said to go ahead and sell it. I would rather spend the money fixing up the suspenion and brakes first. Plus I heard about an S13 for a grand near me. So I might go check that out.

You are actually serious aren't you? Hardest known substance....

read the last part on "don't hold back the revs"http://www.kia.com.sg/cctips/m...p?n=5

perhaps I should not have said it was a "bad thing" to not rev. The debatable benefits of revving an engine (cleaning fuel injectors, lines, carbon buildup) is compromised by the well known disbenefits of doing so (oil break-down, detonation, piston, ring, crankshaft, or rod damage).

I think you will need the ecu from any year above 95.the rest are just bolt in from what I have heard.I have a 95 KA for my 91 and It only has minor things that are diffrent from my 91 KA.For the most part it is the same engine.

Carbon isn't the hardest known substance. That's why you can take a can of intake cleaner, spray it in your tb, and see black stuff pour out. Its hard to keep it from coming back though, and driving at high rpm's causes oil to blow by the piston seals and then it just collects in your intake manifold and you're back to square one, that's why you have to keep up on your intervals: i.e. change the oil, have the injectors cleaned, clean the throttle body, etc etc.

s13chic: he may say that he didn't drive it hard, but you have to have that engine checked out. pics won't tell all. if you know someone with mechanical experience, take them with you to have a peek at the engine. otherwise, it's hard to say how it's been taken care of. Ask for a compression test too.

so true.

it'd suck to put the motor in only to find out it's got bad compression in a cylinder or it's blowing oil past the rings...

blow by sucks...my T Bird is experiencing a little now:(
