I stumbled across this today, and thought maybe it'd be useful for you.

So, I planned to take a little venture outside the other night and try some shots out. I walked outside to set-up the tripod, had a quick smoke, and then headed back inside for the camera. Glasses fogged to high hell (it was about 25 degrees outisde that night). Made me extremely nervous about bringing the camera and lens outside and the same happening to them, and then moisture getting trapped inside one or the other. Needless to say I didnt take any shots that night.

Valid concern or my OCD taking over? Would it be OK if I did, and then immediately wiped both camera and lens with microfiber cloth when I brought them back inside?

I'd step them down in temperature slowly, like put it in the garage or car first or something.

That actually happens to me a lot when I'm at NICO shows. I leave the hotel's icy cool temperature and walk out into the swealtering humidity and heat, and the lens condensate. It takes a while for it to clear off... there's quite a bit of mass involved.

I wouldn't worry about it. I shoot outside in extreme cold all the time. It will fog up etc when i bring it inside but i WILL NOT turn it on till it warms up. One of my friends was shooting with the same camera i have in the pouring rain. Still works fine.

2 Months later, I finally brought it outside.

When I took this next one, it was so dark I could not see an image on the LCD screen, just the outline of the branches above. Needless to say the focus is off, I was just astonished at how much light this thing picks up. No flash used.

I have A LOT of trouble manually focusing. I did all of these manual except the waterfall pic. I dont know if its my eyesight, or the LCD screen size and brightness, or a combination of both. It was getting real dark real fast when I was out, maybe that had something to do with it too. Like I said with the tree pic, it was so dark at the time I could never have imagined thats how it would turn out. I was essentially shooting blind.

Now that Ive had a few shots with it Im quite excited to take it out again. Need to get mah skeelz up before Carlisle so I can document all of the shenanigans...and cars.

Good to see you're having fun with it!

If you do an even longer exposure time at the river, you can get a pretty mist effect with the water.

So Ive been our a few more times shooting, going to purchase a 55-250mm lens in a little bit, itching for some more toys. In particular, I want to pick up a fisheye lens. Are there any "add-on" fisheye attachments or do I need to a complete lens? By "add-on" I mean something like this (which I also plan to purchase):

I searched through B and H pretty thoroughly and I couldnt find anything. Any one have some pro insight?
