It's only worth what people will pay for it - book value is simply a guideline. Your regional market may be different from mine, and I spent about two months finding the bike (in my defense, there were only a few that fit my mileage and color scheme criteria anyway).
It may well be that your market dictates that prices are higher. I have no idea what winter is like in Kentucky - in Texas, we have 10 months a year or so of riding weather. Sportbikes are common as hell, so it's not hard to find what you're looking for. Perhaps your climate is different.
It also helps that I paid cash for the bike.
Oh, and I wasn't extremely lucky. My brother bought his F4i several months later, from a different seller, only 300 more miles (2000 even) for $6,000 as well. Admittedly, his is that nasty banana yellow Honda favors sometimes, but still.
I stand by my opinion that the price is too high - I would offer you between $4,000 and $5,000. However, sell it for every penny you can get from it.
