That's cool that you got an older bike... something you won't commit suicide over if/when you lay it down...

Be safe, and especially beware of minivans.

I like yellow stuff...

that's a pretty sweet looking bike, probably pretty snappy too.perhaps the a$$ will see the bright color and not try to run you over. Hope you have a good helmet and some skins anyway.

Congrats on joining the community, and good choice on a starter bike! Have you taken your MSF course yet? If you haven't, you should. Great stuff, and a 10% discount on your insurance!

Make sure you've got good gear - at the minimum, you should ride with a helmet and gloves. I rarely ride without full gear (jacket, gloves, helmet, jeans, riding boots).

Take your time, and remember to ride at your own pace. I'd rather see you get in the sport and stay in it than quit after six months because you wad your bike badly.

600's are sweet, I fear I'll look like a gorilla on one though (6'3" 270lbs)

I need a harley, probably suit me best as far as looking like I belong on it, though a big 1000cc or more sport bike would rock.

That is a really sweet F4, always like red and black together:)

R6? I'd rather have the 600RR by Honda. But then again, I ride red. :) R6's are nice (I'll take black with red flames, please), I've got a buddy who rides one. He's had quite a few problems with it though - ignition coils all had to be replaced - they fried themselves. He bought the bike new, an '03.

My next ride will be a 954RR, or the 1000RR that replaces it. I've got a motor swap to do and another guitar and some music equipment to buy before I look at another bike.

I sense sarcasm with the force.

it's an old uh...crap, brb gotta find the service manual to get the name.

SP600, tis a true dinosaur, only gave 50 bills for it, should've tried to get it for free really.

if push comes to shove I may build a six speed shifter cart with it.

You're asking too much for the F4. I paid $6,000 for my F4i. It was an '02 with 1,700 miles on it, and the seller included a Pitbull rear stand.

I didn't post it on your for sale thread, since I didn't want to be rude, but you'll be EXTREMELY lucky if you find someone willing to pay that.

You got extremely lucky finding such a good deal for a bike of that calibur, but remember you paid an extra 1k to begin with, and I am sure his asking price wasn't 6k, probably more like 6750 or 6500.

I think my price is an average price for a bike of its kind, and I respect your opinion even though I respectfully disagree.

Thanks for your input,

Rubin

p.s. I also can show you the Kelly Blue Book value (which is more than what I am asking) and the Nada Value which is what I will accept, maybe even more. Those are 2 things that justify my price.

It's only worth what people will pay for it - book value is simply a guideline. Your regional market may be different from mine, and I spent about two months finding the bike (in my defense, there were only a few that fit my mileage and color scheme criteria anyway).

It may well be that your market dictates that prices are higher. I have no idea what winter is like in Kentucky - in Texas, we have 10 months a year or so of riding weather. Sportbikes are common as hell, so it's not hard to find what you're looking for. Perhaps your climate is different.

It also helps that I paid cash for the bike. :)

Oh, and I wasn't extremely lucky. My brother bought his F4i several months later, from a different seller, only 300 more miles (2000 even) for $6,000 as well. Admittedly, his is that nasty banana yellow Honda favors sometimes, but still. ;)

I stand by my opinion that the price is too high - I would offer you between $4,000 and $5,000. However, sell it for every penny you can get from it. :D

You would offer me b/n 4-5k, and that is what I am asking for it, so why is it too high. I didnt say I wanted 8k for it, I said it had 8 THOUSAND miles on it, lol!

I think we were confused here, I am selling it for 5k obo.

Good buy. Like SmithSr said, be safe, and watch for those other people. Remember they cant see you.

I can tell you all about slamming into the side of a Cadilac at 50 mph. They dont budge, and tend to do all kinds of damage to you and the bike.

Have fun, but be carefull.

Oh yeah, I hessitate to to post this link to a bike site, but.........http://www.stuntlife.com
