but to properly fix the lip is to use a plastic repair kit. they sell them at the zone. its all about the prep. use cloth on the backside of it, and bevel the edges on the front then fill with the plastic two part epoxy. then sand smooth. then use a skim coat of glazing putty to finish it off.
