There's literally like at least one of these threads made every week.

For that kind of cash, you aren't gonna afford anything other than the typical ebay special unless you buy used. So head over to the classifieds and start looking, hop your cheap azz on Ebay or make your budget a little more realistic so you can get a nice affordable BRM exhaust.

Simmode1: Thanks for the input but if a thread like this popped up every other week then I believe the mods will notify me sooner or later, going back to the point I put IE there, so its not that I'm looking for $200-$300 exhaust system, its for example. If you want to put a $500-$600 exhaust system by all means, go ahead, I want this thread to be more like and archive, so when members come to this thread they gonna see: this exhaust for this kinda price, the PRO and CONS, and where to get em. Just to help them better their decisions.

Costa_rican13: I'll go take a look ^_^

Just stick around, guy. You'll see how often this pops up and everyone wants their thread to be some kinda archive like they're forging new ground or something.

I have a Circuit Sports exhaust. It's now discontinued but it was marked down to $400 when I got it. It's a good exhaust nice and quiet, but the BRM is better. I'm not the type to advocate wildly spending money on things you can afford to be frugal on. But you gotta have realistic expectations on how far your money is gonna go on a 240sx. They're relatively inexpensive cars to mod and play with, but not quite as cheap as most newcomers think they are.

Being an older guy, if I had to to do all over again and the Circuit Sports exhaust wasn't available, I'd get the BRM exhaust or a custom made oval exhaust since ovals give you better ground clearance on slammed cars.

If you wanna be annoyingly loud and raspy, get whatever from ebay or Isis...

300ZXttZMAN: I just explained to Simmode13 on your take on this thread please read last post
Simmode13: U best believe this "Guy" will stick around, and no sirr by all means I'm not tryna be groundbreaking or anything just tryna get every info possible from all them member on this site, thats all. Back to the topic so u would say that BRM exhaust is the best bang for your bucks?? Oh hells no man, Im looking for a quiet exhaust I mean I looked all over youtube, and some of them just plain loud some of them is what Im looking for but on a high rpm it sounded like nothing I wanted, and I just dont wanna go with HKS hi power cos I think Its just LOUD. So here's the deal some time ago my friend bought exhaust system (forgot brand name) but its nice on low rpm (cruising) but when he goes to high rpm it gots a certain growl to it, thats what Im looking for? any idea what Im talking bout??

Well, there's lots of good exhausts out there. Some can range between $6oo - $800... But if you want a discreet (ie It doesn't look like a fart can...) cat-back that is relatively quiet and inexpensive despite being high qualtiy, then thats the BRM catback. Thats why its endorsed on this site. $500 isn't all that bad.

The decibel level of the exhaust will be determined by the specifications you order for it: whether you want resonated or no-resonated, 2.5 inch piping or 3 inch piping. If you plan of going turbo, I'd say spring for the 3 inch exhaust. Keep the resonators. Those and the muffler construction will keep the noise down. I should also add: a Turbo car would be quieter than an N/A car as well.

There are BRM sound clips on youtube too. But don't get me wrong: lots of guys around here are very happy with their $200 ebay exhausts.

everyone willing to pay 6-800 dollars for exhaust for "legitism" is in another world. i owned an sr swap s13 with a bigger turbo injectors and z maf and when it came to exhaust i literally had an apexi muffler and had a 3" stainless ceramic coated pipe custom bent with the flange welded on and installed for 80 dollars and it was so good, didnt hang too low, and if i went over a speed bump or hit a puddle i wasnt cringing at the thought of screwing up my 800 dollar hks exhaust system. really its polished and pretty when you get it but it hangs underneath the car. imo exhaust is something you can fab up yourself and have a nice system with some decent mufflers or a straight 3" pipe like i did (no noise or emmsissions in s.c.) and get a great tone and the muffler still makes it look expensive.

Save up for a BRM! My exhaust is in pretty rough shape, it's an eBay special and I've had it going on 5 years now. It still holding up just fine, just rusting in places. It isn't really shiny anymore either. But when this one takes a s***, BRM is the way I'm going to go.

Both links have videos. Also, check out Isis cat-backs on Enjuku. I have a few Isis parts and they are pretty good quality. Plus, it's an exhaust, it's piping and a muffler. Who cares what brand it is. The highest Isis exhaust is $299. There are a few videos of them on YouTube, check them out and find out which ones you like the best and go from there. BRM is what I suggest though for not overly loud and annoying. Good luck and post up some pics and a video of what you get!!

Like he said. i'm picking up a blitz nur spec for 250$ at the local shop here. that will be in a few weeks but they have awesome deals on used jdm exhausts 250 a pop no matter what brand they even have an hks same price as the nur spec.

ALtho he was probably talking about buying your pipe and muffler and resonator seperately and having a shop weld it up.

^^^Man, its gotta be a good shop though and you gotta watch them like a hawk if they're fabbing up an exhaust from scratch. I did this twice at two different shops and both turned out to be junk.

The second shop welded entire the exhaust as one peice straight to the cat and then welded the cat straight to the header with NO flanges at all! So from my header to the end of my exhaust was one huge a$$ peice of crap full of exhaust leaks and the exhaust hangers kept breaking loose from the piping from all the crappy welding and dragging the huge fart can muffler on the ground. I actually had to secure that shizz with a wire clothes hanger! I wish I had pics. It was ghetto fabulous.

Yeah, at that point I just decided to buy something that had a nice reputation and wouldn't break the bank. Circuit Sports FTW.

Yeah for sure on watching ive seen too many shops do the weld it all the way through..hell the 5th 240 i bought was done that way and i didnt realize till after i bought my exhaust...s*** sucked i had to find a down pipe like asap too a few weeks.

As to quality of exaust you don't always get what you pay for buying name brand. A buddy of mine got a greddy tic at the same time i traded a bmx bike for a E motoring exhaust..(Not ebay its an actual company and they no longer make s13 exhaust...not really sure why best fitting and sounding 3 inch exhaust ive heard in my entire life)

Needless to say the emotoring fit better, sounded better, and didnt drag the ground...the greddy, raspy sounding and fit poorly for being so exspensive....he offered to trade and i turned him down.

As far as ghetto goes heres a good laugh the intake that was on the single slammer when i bought it

really all an exhaust is just steel tubing and a muffler, brand doesnt matter, weld quality and fitment DO...

i have the isis blast pipes and a godspeed catback.. both fit fine and i have no complaints

dont pay high dollar for an exhaust unless its titanium..

Buy an ebay exhaust that was designed after a name brand one then get the hangers reinforced and you're gravy. I've got an n1 dual knockoff that my buddy sold me for $90 and it's the best exhaust I've heard on an N/A 4 cylinder PERIOD.
