I'm still pretty sure that I'll win. The Cobalt is faster I'm sure. The driver that I'm going aginst is a true novice, he's only had the car for about three months and has never been to a 1/4 mile track. I'm visualizing him launching at Redline and spinning through all of first! My family (dad/brother) has been drag racing since before I was born. LOL

I do like the way yours soundsbetter, it has a more sporting sound. Mine sounds more like a chevy truck! What do you have done to the system, you mentioned header back?

Well that will be comical then! The SS is impossible to launch above 2k without any traction mods. With your experience you should definitely beat him.

ive been thinking about removing the premufflers in my system and just having the pipes all the way back to the rear muffler... how do you guys think it will effect the sound? My thought is to put flanges on the rear muffler so that I can take it off and have essentially straight pipe for when I want it loud....

No pre cats, two high flow dynomax cats, two flow masters, no rear muffler, one straight 3 inch pipe out the back. Monza dual tip at the rear. All custom built.

I finally got to run my car at the track. I couldn't race against the CRX because of the way the line moved. I did run with a Mustang GT, I lost but I wasn't embarrassed by him. Her is the video clip and a picture of the timeslip. http://s2.photobucket.com/albu...8.flv

Road and Track was only able to squeeze out 16.2 in 1994.

I was happy enough with the results. Not impressive but not sorry. The fact that I was able to stall up to about 2000rpm and only a trace of wheel spin helped me get a 15.9. Also a .527 reaction time helped.

R/T just launches normal and they don't use laser timing lights.

In the old days they were called drag strips because anything as short as ¼ mile and no turns hardly constitutes a track.

congrats on getting out there and having some fun......Those are not all that bad of times for a stock regularly maintained Q. My 95 with about 125K went 15.8@88mph or so and it had always been dealer maintained, but not NICO maintained. NICO standards are much higher than dealer standards. I went from a slow 15.8 to 14.25 after about a very serious $8,000+ in mods over a 1 year period. I was/still am a mad man with dream of breaking into the 13sec barrier which is not possible in the Q if you are going to use it as a practical daily driver and not suffer too much longevity.

Congrats....
