I could have sent the car to the crusher and then what would you do if you needed a part, pay those hign dealer prices, or maybe roll the dice at the junkyard????. I bet if you needed a serious part you would be glad for find someone like me. I've found over the years showing cars and interacting with other car people, we try to help each other. Why do you think that the people of NICO and particularly the Q forum share. Im sure that they have other things to do. Like most of the people that could afford these cars, I maintained it, or as my wife says, excessively. The insurance company, and myself reached an accomodation, because I thought it would be a good idea, that, this be a donor car. By doing so just think, how many G50's could continue on the road because of this car. My 12 year old enterprising daughter, for the most part with my assistance is taking this car apart. She gets all proceeds to restore her 1961 Cadillac Sedan. It's a one owner car (my father) my mother left it to her, for some reason she's got this car thing!!! She takes all photos identifies parts, and maintains database of what's available.
I think that you will find at some future point in life, it's not about the money!! Find something that you enjoy in life....... and do it! The straight answer could have been; with all the money that Bill Gates has, why does he get up in the morning to go to work!?????
