I love how everyone just kept going about their business until the janitor is like, "You're getting water all over my floor. I gotta clean that, yo!"

Uh... she's not a girl. Woman is 44 years old, I think.

Also, a lawsuit hasn't been filed. She's considering it because no one helped her? :gotme

I agree. I'm not siding with her. Just trying to explain where she's coming from...

If I ever did something that dumb, I'd hope all of you would laugh at me. Might teach me not to be such a sped the next time.

wow wat a douche to oust herself to national TV... and she works at that mall?!?

apparently this wasn't real time because they were playing it back on the tube with 2 different angles (probably the next shift) so there's no way they can go out there and help out that idiot right away

Oh dear jeepers, it just gets better doesn't it? Nobody would've known it was her (except HER) if she didn't speak up about it .... what an IIIIIiiiiidiot. She's right about one thing -
Marrero, who works at a store in the Berkshire mall in Wyomissing, admitted that she laughed, too, at first. But after being laughed at by millions, she said, no one has taken her feelings into consideration.
... Yep, I'm one million ONE! :lolling: Buck it up Marrero! Thanks for the link!

I know you're not serious, but what could she expect for help? Was she going to drown in 18" of water or something?
"I can't get out of this fountain by myself!" God, I can only wonder how she survives on vacation in a swimming pool after being pushed in by someone.

From reading the article, the impending law-suit is probably more about who/how and why mall security let this video out. I'll tell you why ...

If she had kept her fat trap shut and learned to laugh at her own dern self, nobody would've known it was her and there would be no WORLDWIDE embarassment! .... I still can't stop laughing. I would love to see what attorney and judge does NOT laugh at it - she's only furthering her own suffering. What's the goal here, to have malls accross America place warnings on their entrance doors, "By entering these doors you agree to release mall management, staff and all other persons within or related to this establishment from any and all liabilities whist texting and walking. CAUTION: Water fountains may shift without warning."

My opinion:
Lawyers are ruining the world with these pointless lawsuits. One day we are going to live in a world full of caution tape and warning labels. Chocolate bars will have warnings saying "bar may cause fatness and diabetes" and TV's will have a big sticker that says watching TV may lead to blindness. This whole thing is getting out of hand...

Oh yeah and I had to show the video to as many people as I could...it was hilarious!!! :rotfl

She does have the right to sue about the video, ya know. :gotme

It's pretty cut and dry legal right there.

Im not aware of any right to privacy when youre wandering around a public space, especially if that public space is privately owned.

she has probably been a whiner her whole life, and thinks that her life is so hard.

she could have made her situation a lot better and instead of getting all teary and butthurt, she could have done some kind of a silly psa warning people not to text and walk, and probably could have profited.

No, no no. The use of her image without her consent and to make fun of her. I didn't say she didn't deserve it, tho.

How so? You can't even tell it's her from the quality of the video. And Jesda's right in that being it's a privately owned mall open to the public, I'll bet there are visual signs posted somewhere near the entrances that state you are under surveillance. Therefore your rights are relinquished just by entering the mall. Does she have a case ... maybe ... with the right attorney; but I don't think it's THAT cut and dry, nor worth the battle unless the attorney is good enough to push for an out-of-court settlement. The only thing that I could see being a legal issue is that somehow the video sneaked out of the security room; that in and of itself I'm sure breaks some sort of mall-cop terms of employment or conduct code. And that's got nothing to do with her.

The only thing that is for certain is that it is funny, and she's adding to her own embarassment. And that doubles the funny! :chuckle:

wasn't the video that we all saw online taken by a cell phone that was recording a tv screen? so the video itself never left, right?

So you think any one of those security workers can take a clip of you scratching your nuts and just post it on their facebook anytime they want? LOL
These kind of suits are actually pretty common.

I don't think so. From what I understand, she is only suing because the video was used in a manner inconsistent with what it was intended for.

Oh man, she's a real winner. Apparently after her TV debut on GMA, it's been found that she's got a record for using credit cards ilegally and other stuff. She just got off probation this past October. Hahahaha ... I REALLY don't think she's got a case at all. :chuckle:

I would like to see frivolous lawsuit legislation enacted. I am tired of stupid f*** being able to sue others for their own stupidity. I hope a teenager falling out of a passing plane's landing gear crushes her a** and the city sues bothe people's families for staining the sidewalk.

Uh what? Where did I say it was OK for security to release the video? And again, you can't even tell who it is in the video. Whatever ... you're right, I'm wrong ... feel better now? :rotfl

Instead of filing a suit, she should have asked for a copy of the tape and sent it in to AFV.

I read she said she hired an attorny after feeling humiliation on a big scale by the mall security's decision to post it on youtube without her consent or knowledge. The Security guards were wrong for publishing it. but I dont know if what they did was illegal considering how far away she was from the camera. Her appearance on Good Morning America did not help her.

Not to mention you can't tell who she is in the video either...except her coming forward about it publicly then negated that. Dumbass.
