So i had a 1990 q 4 years ago and about 2 years ago the motor went bad i got rid of it and ive regretted it ever since. If anyone can let me know of a clean q between 90-96 they come across let me know. 1500 is the budget so im not expecting a perfect one just something that needs a little tlc. Im in the sf bay area so cars around there are preferred.

Check out the classified section on NICO, most of the better Q's show up there. I would avoid the 90-93 unless people can prove that they fixed the timing guide issues (that might be what killed your 90) and that the transmission is solid with a transmission cooler installed. While the 94 lost the belt buckle and went a little softer with the grill, it was far more reliable from day one. The 95 might be ideal, the 96 was detuned, I drove one back in 2000 and it was noticably slower and not the "beast" that the 92' I drove for 6 months.

Use Autotrader and throw you net out across the entire US, or at least 300-500 miles from where you live...where you based, most of the better Q's in this age range are in CA or FL......1500 should be enough of a budget to get a car but you should budget 3-4k for immediate repairs/updates, etc for a car at this price point.

Thanks for the info. i think i may go 94 or 95 because im a bigger fan of the interior. i plan on doing the 300zx 5speed swap so the transmission isnt my biggest concern. i believe the 94 and up came with heated seats which i would like also.

The convenience features alone along with remote key fob still make the 1994-1995 my favorite.

I buy cars out of auctions occasionally, and have bought several Qs over the years.. damn guys, I just picked up a 91 Q with 80,000 miles. Went and picked it up and drove it home, the oil change sticker is from the dealer in Salt Lake. The car is much tighter than any of the others I have bought, the interior is really, really nice, (except the stereo of course). The passenger door is pretty bad, and the back door is scraped, but just excited, this car is way nice....

Here are the photos of the car.. I have found doors but will not get them for a couple of weeks, they are a long way away!

I am installing a new stereo, looking for some wheels. I now have two good sets of 15s but think the car looks a lot nicer with 16s..

She runs and drives like new, I think I am in love, or at the very least lust!!

Always a good sign to see factory wheels still on a older car one is looking to purchase ......generally,it is a sign it has not been owned by young poor people who tend to screw up cars pretty badly!

Hey if the sticker on the radiator trim piece is still i good shape can you take a picture of it? I just want to see what it says so I know when I order a replacement for my car its the correct one.

Was the rocker panel damaged at all?
