I honestly can not break the tires free.. even under high speed tight full throttle turns.

the tires just "stick"

They are also very quiet.

These tires will easily shave a few seconds off my autocross times.

Try the Toyo Proxes T1R. I have had it on for almost 9K, and it still grips like new.

I dislike Toyo's

I have tried more tires in my time then you could possibly imagine.

Dunlop, Toyos, Sumitomos, Khumos, Michelins etc.. etc..

I have gone through 4 SETS (16 tires) in the last 1.5 years on the G35.

The best tire I have had thus far is the General UHP. (And they are cheap! )

We do not suggest Exclaim UHP tires be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

agree, love the General tires had it on my benz for 8 total in the last 2 years, but on my lowered benz it last only 5000 miles on the rear (most people had it last for 50000 miles)that's it, i guess that what you get when you 1. big rims low profile= that's half 50000/2=250002. Slam Lowering = that's another half 25000 = 125003. Negative Camber = no need to say 12500 = 62504. Azn driver give it = 5000 miles so i guess is good enough

and yes, i also feel like at first i thought Toyo are crazy performance tires, but when i turn it slip on me <--- it gave me that face then i compare my benz tire i found out i will go no General for sure next time

That is how I feel about my Kumho SPT's! I may try UHP's next time depending on price. I go through a set of rubber every year somehow....

Sumotomos SUCK in the rain though... if you enjoy hydroplaning buy Sumotomos.

Go wide with these tires.

They have good performance and they last a long time... But the best part is you can drive in the rain as if it isn't even raining!

I put the Kumho's on last December at 19 k miles because the Goodyear RSA's were down to the wear bars and the car got sideways when it broke traction on the 1-2 shift a couple times

I now have 39k miles on the car and the Kumho's still have just over 1/4 inch of tread left in the center the cornering edges have a little more. I run my tires at 36-38 psi all the time because I go fast frequently.

I went on a trip up north to Sedona in January or February when it was pouring rain so bad I could barely see the car in front of me and the tires never hydroplaned.

I think I probably will try the UHP's next time though because they are $86 for 235/45/17 and the SPT's were $100.

What is the traction rating on the UHP's? The SPT's are 320/aa/a

Buy the Toyo Proxes T1R, fill it up with Nitrogen, and then take them to a track---you won't be disapointed. You will see your car moving in corners like it it is being controlled by a computer. I still have plenty of thread left even after 9K. Seems like the tire might approach 18 K - 20 K. Of course, I drive aggressively.

I am sure if I add stiffer sway bars and braces, my suspension will be GTR capable, and this is what i am planning to do next. (Next years tax returns should be able to provide some stiffer sway bars, grounding kit, braces, headers, and test pipes).

I think Kenrik's suspension makes a difference with his tire wear. So does his driving style. I can't say this for sure, but your driving style and Kenrik's don't seem to be in the same neighborhood.

Times are getting tough! I need to keep some change in the bank. I am glad I bought my first set of modes earlier this year, when I did. By next tax season, I'll see how the economy looks and how much change is left in the bank before I go on another round of mods. Tax season is mod season for me.

Since I have 19's, I don't think i will lower the car anymore. What I need now is stiffer suspension and better responsiveness, which speaks volumes for a grounding gear. I am still not convinced about the lighter pulleys, though I know it does work for some people.

I am pleased with the wide band of torque I have now (3k - 5500K), though I am not sure how the Strup headers and testpipes will change the torque band I have now---will it get wider and better or will it get narrower and more intense? I don't want to spend all that money to find out it is worse. I am more interested in torque than horsepower.

Somebody here have a Gtech to measure cornering G force with these tires? I used to have one, i'd like to get one again to check how crazy that car holds. Road & Track claimed 0.94g for the coupe in 2003, G37 is 0.89 i think.

They are still like the best tire... and they are cheap. So if you smoke a set in a year... it don't matter cuz you can get a new set for like 350 bux!

Buy the Toyo Proxes series next time. They are awesome. My car will never be like a GTR---never, ever. But it can come pretty close, if i choose it to. The capabilities and resources to do so are out there. What do you think?

I'm glad to hear this about some cheaper performance tires because I've been looking at bigger rims and don't know a lot about tires and with the more mainstream brands, their good tires run $200-300 per...that just doesn't work for me.

Just about any tire will feel good in the beginning, what happens to those same tires at or after 10K miles? At 9K + miles, which is just about halfway, my Toyos still grip like crazy. And I beleive Joe603 has Toyos as well, and his lasted a long time. it was joe603's advice and a Service Manager at a Nissan dealership that prompted me to buy the Toyos and I have not regretted it one bit.

Jacko... they last 30 to 50K miles. read the review on tirerack... millions of miles have been reported.

I understand you spent a ton of $$ on your tires and you feel the need to justify the purchase but just let it go..
