DISCLAMER:This gb is for those who have a damaged or 'short snout' crank, be certian when entering in that the motor needs this, as im not responsible for parts on the wrong application.to the mods, if this needs to be moved then move it to the right place please, figured it would to the most good here in the general forum.ok nuff of that.....
well as stated in the topic this gb is for crank collars for most rb motors with a short oil drive, or short snout crank as its refered to.motors affected are ALL rb20det, s1 rb25det, some s2 rb25det, all EARLY r32 rb26dett if you do not have one of these motors then chances are you do not need a crank collar.the short snout on the oil pump portion can 'slip' at high rpm causing oil starvation leading to massive engine damage, please be aware that if you stay within factory limits you should be fine but for those with highly modified motors or wanting peace of mind then consider this as an option.a crank collar should be fitted to motors that are to use the rb26dett n1 oil pump as it is designed to work with the long snout cranks, using it on a short snout can damage it and cause the same problems as the short snout alone.please be aware that the motor has to come apart for this to be fitted, it is not something that can be done incar or while the motor is still together.also should you choose to fit this collar you should use the proper pump (ie: rb25det neo or r33 and up rb26dett pump) using a short drive pump on a collared crank isnt any better than where you were.
crank collar is australian made by a well respected engine building shop, machined from chrome moly steel it is tough and will withstand the abuse that it will be put thru.
pricing is 140$ shipped to you with a 1-2 week lead time after the gb closes for shipping from au to me and then to you.
gb starts feb. 12th and runs till the 19th, short stint but there is no 'required' minimum so those who enter will be able to get theirs without delay.
