So there's my question.

For those who have done the swap (sr, ca or ka-t), which pillar mounting pod do you use? I'm looking for a triple if possible, but i can't find any for my '91 240. Also, how much did you guys pay? Here's a pic of what i am talking about:

Thanks in advance!

there isnt a triple...autometer makes the dual, its like 30 bux or something....im taking mine out, if u wait i can sell it..

u can use a dual and a single, and it will appear to be a triple....that was in the old gsx : )

Well, i'd prefer to go used so i can save a bit of cash. but new isn't a big deal either. Do you have any idea how big the gauge openings are? I'm guessing 2 1/16th.

While we're on the subject of gauge pods, does anyone make one that replaces the whole a-pillar or are the only available ones the cheap kind that just screw into your existing a-pillar?

just the cheap kind that screw in....

you might be able to find something in japan that is a full pillar, but it will be for the RHD pillar : )

they make in japan, the pod that fits on top of the dash though, and holds three guages....

jesse

im gonna ditch my pillar pod for something more stealth, (design under construction, but it will be nice, stealth, and carbon fiber, hehe), so if someone wants it, ill try to have my friend come over this weekend, and start on it, so i can get the pod out asap....

Looks like I'll have to convert the car to RHD then :) ehh...I may decide to go with something more stealth when the time comes too. Gotta use that glove box for something anyways.

im just going with a setup like u see in all those drift video's, with the stereo relo'd and all the guages in a custom holder mounted where the stereo deck would be...i have 5 guages+ afc and turbo timer, so we'll do something nice with it...right now the look like:

http://www.eframes.com/ef-cgi/...r.JPG

although now all there is a sparco, and stripped to metal, and all that red **** is black : )

How could you strip your car down to the metal? That's something I would never do...even if I only drove it at the track ;)

heh, its almost done, then ill repaint the interior, and get some floor mats for the passenger, so the girls dont complain, hehe, but who needs carpet in a car? and sound deadening material? blahhhhhhh

Do you know where you could get a gauge pod like this one? I would really like a pod like that, I need some extra gauges, and I don't want to rip out my vent or relocate my controls or stereo.

ohh that is nice. I would really like something along those lines. Budd, do you think that would be difficult to make? That might be a one off part.

Hey BuudWeizErr just custom fab it out of fiberglass. Its not hard at all, its just measy and its gonna take some time to get it right. Id say its a 2 day project at the most. And if you make it you can make a bunch of copies and sell tthem to people on the forums.;)

I was thinking of putting 2 on the A-piller, probably boost and EGT, and put the rest where the passanger air bag should be. Maybe at a little angle pointed towards the driver? Does anyone have pics of this set up?

Oh, and they do make those full A-piller replacements, just not for the 240 :(

Well Budd, I'll see if I can get thte materials together to make one. it might be a good thing to learn how to work with Fiberglass. That way I can at least rpair all of my own drifting mistakes.

Does any one have any pointers?

Make most of it out of wood and then lay the fiberglass. That way the fiberglass will have a shape to take.
