anyways, we are paying 3.79 here on base but off is another story closer to 4 the last time i saw it!!!
hey I'm from Corpus too... in San Antonio now, hopefully not for to much longer though. Austin is awesome and I'll probably be moving there soon.

reg 87 oct here is like 3.8? I dont use it anymore so Im not really sure, but premium is 4.17 but I get 3 cents off the gallon with my walmart credit card haha hey every little cent helps. I dont use 87 oct. anymore because I've noticed I get way better gas milage with premium so Ill sacrifice a few pennies for a few more miles per gallon.

You guys in the States have it so good.

Canada, specifically the richest (and best) province in the Country, Alberta where most of the oil comes from is charging almost $5.30 a gallon right now.

Oh stop with the, we pay more in canada crap. Average household in canada pulls in 76k a year and the average american household pulls in 54k a year. Have you seen the value of the US dollar lately? For christ sakes, the canadian dollar is worth more than ours! My friends girl is from Norway and she jokingly compared our economy with that of a third world country. So embarrassing to even hear than jokingly mentioned!

I filled up in Blaine WA on the weekend. I went to the first gas station I found after the boarder, only a couple miles in. Regular gas was $4.50 per gallon.(premium $4.73) Gas on Canada side was $1.48 per liter (regular). 3.78 liters in a gallon I paid $1.18 per liter. ($1.25 premium)

it was not too long ago I was buying things in american dollars on ebay and having to double the cost shown because our dollar was worth nothing. Just recently our dollar is finally comparable to yours, and everything there is cheaper (I like to cross the border and grocery shop ) for instance, cereal (which we have no fun flavors like americans) can be anywhere from 5-8$ a box in comparison to 2$ there (walmart) and our box is half the size here! groceries are cheaper there, beer is cheaper, smokes are half the price, and yes our incomes are higher here but we also fork out a lot more coin for the things we need like FOOD, clothes and housing..... crap you cant find much in the cities for less than 500,000, to rent a place is like 1500 and up, a month (for a dump)....sorry for my rant but you seem to be hating on canada, one peep from a canadian whining about gas prices and your right there to tell us to quit b*itchin??? things aren't so green on this side.

im from jersey but a couple times a year ill go up to canada with my board for the snow. Although you guys do have a larger AVERAGE income, you have every right to complain. Things are a lot more expensive for you guys up in canada, and i would come down for shopping too ;]. And the $500,000 for housing sounds about right for jersey and ny, which is f'in ridiculous. I think we are all allowed to rant on this one...when it comes to gas, no one's grass is green anymore...well except venezuala's

I visit canada once a year, I always go to toronto, I am not sure how it compares to other cities there, but I am sure its not the cheapest place in Canada. Every time I go there, I go to restaurants and I always comment how much cheaper it is than where I live (bay area, CA). I can get a dinner entree and a drink at a normal restaurant in Canada for around $10 or less, or a lunch combo for $4. Over here, I cant find a place less than $7 for lunch (chipotle type place) unless its mcdonalds or an equivalent fast food joint.

I do agree that alcohol and cigarettes are taxed heavily there, but your buds and munchies is cheaper

Yea one of my girl friends and her family grew up in canada and they moved down here to socal. They are struggling big time to make ends met, where in canada they were living comfortably. I'm not hating on canada. I agree you guys have expensive things, I believe we have an equal amount of expensive things here in socal on top of an out of control fuel rising frenzy. Her family had a $400,000 mansion in Canada, and they paid that for a 2 bedroom house here. 1500 to rent a house? Try 1800 to rent an apartment here in socal....

In Edmonton $500,000 these days gets you a three bedroom two story house with one or two bathrooms.

I have a buddy renting a one bedroom apartment for $1,100 a month.

Our economy and our boom has made living in Alberta tougher than it's ever been, even when you're bringing in $80,000 or $120,000 a year.

Just found out there is a gas station here where I live that a church has gone to and is paying 25 cents off every gallon of gas! I hate that I just filled my tank up LAST NIGHT!
