I just got a 2.5, it has 600 miles on it, my first tank I only got 21.9 MPG (there were a couple hundred miles on the highway with this and I was at like 26 MPG, then I finished the tank on all city miles and thats what it ended up at) and this tank I'm getting 17.6 so far. Its mostly city driving, but is this normal?? I occasionally run it hard, but most of the time Im just cruising. I do always have my windows and sunroof down and the AC on, but come on!
UPDATE: This morning I drove the slowest Ive ever driven and I watched our digital gauge that shows our miles per gallon in a real-time moving bar graph. When Im not giving it gas of course the graph is filled up to like 60 mpg. If I give it even the slightest throttle and bring it to about 1800 rpms it goes down to like 21 MPG on the graph. If i give it just a little more to 2100 rpms it goes down to like 15 MPG and if I bring it above 2300 RPMs it looks like about 7-10 MPG on the readout.
Is this normal for you guys? THis was with the AC Off and all windows and sunroofs up and driving like a damn turtle. I cant drive like that though.... I make fun of people who go through life driving that slow. A Toyota Prius was in front of me at a stoplight and burned me off the line cuz I had to stay below 2100 RPMs.... Anybody have an input on my situation??
I need to know ASAP, Im planning to get Dual Magnaflow Exhaust installed and paint my calipers this weekend, but if theres a problem with the car I may need to hold off on that stuff. -Thanks in advance guys
