You didn't know you can reset that?

When your looking at the MPH-MPG screen, press and hold the confirm button (on the right), and it will zero out those figures. Same with the hours driven screen
oh really?? nice...I guess I never read through the manually thoroughly enough heh...thanks for the tip!

well, my mpg got better, i still never go over 3,000 revs.. i drive hella slow in this, and plan to for a month. at first i got like:

16.5 mpgand 18.x mph.

now after driving a lil more it went upto : 17.9mpg and 19.9 mph...

so i'm just wondering, does it take some time for the car's mpg to break in? or i guess what i'm trying to say is, that does it take sometime for the car to gets its full mpg potential considering it's still new? i'm just above 100 miles.

I hope you guys don't go by the trip computer, they are terribly inaccurate.

Horrible design. I mean, it goes by TIME, not actual mileage/fuel consumed. When you sit idle, I realize that you are getting 0mpg, but it's only for a minute, not an hour.

i get about average 30-32mpg. use the cruise control its your freind. on the hwy iget around 28-30 mpg. but in the city i get more, alot more. here in humblodt county there isnt alot of stop and go so in a major city. i could keep the cruise cont on and at 40mph iget 50mpg. in a small town i got upto 69.8 mpg no b.s.i was thinking about installing a short ram intake i heard i should be able to get at least 1-3mpg increase. use criuse control, and dont use the AC i noticed 4-5 mpg decrease. how? there is a saftey corridor area where i live where i had to drive and the spped limit is 50, and traffic fines are doubled criuse control i was getting 48.9mpg w/ no AC. on the way back i turned on my AC and i was getting 42.3.

LOL 69.8mpg?!! Are you talking about your Altima or your Honda Elite? Dude, not even the best hybrid car on the market will get you that kind of great gas mileage.

no joke thats what the trip computer said, i usaually see how much i average after i have my speed steady. either its right or the trip computer is F***ed up. U know after thinking about it i was never able to replicate the results of that day, maybe it was an error or something, but who knows

Go back and coast down the same hill you used the first time, lol

I spent a day driving interstate through Wyoming on cruise at 55 in my '94 SE-R and got 44 mpg, that was the best mileage I've ever gotten in any vehicle other than my motorcycle (and that only beat it by 1-2 mpg).

Yea the trip computer would throw out 70 mpg if u reset it on the top of a hill and let it calculate it going down in neutral or some ****. Theres plently of ways to trick the mpg computer, but in the long run your only fooling yourself. As for the Air Conditioner. The AC is going to put more of a load on the engine because the compressor is run by your serpentine belt. Thus giving you slightly lower gas mileage when used.

yeah, I've gotta say, all these mpg #s that people are posting, especially those that own 3.5 coupes...have got to be from the trip computer. I think the best way to calculate is whatever somebody here said in an earlier post - reset your trip computer every time you fill up...then the next time you fill up, divide the mileage the trip computer is showing, by the amount of gas you filled up - I find this way is much more accurate.

Ive actually read stats in the past comparing airconditioning/windows and the relitive speed of the car... i think at one point, the wind resistance counteracted the draw from the AC... making the AC better than opening windows... anyone follow?

55 mph is a 15-20% loss in fuel efficiency with the windows down. At that point its more economical to ride with the ac on. Above 90 however eficiency is no longer affected by the windows. So i would say when driving around the city/town windows down, but on the highways ac on till 90.

Yes, when travelling at highway speeds, you get better mileage with the windows up and the A/C on because you have less wind resistance/drag causing the car to work less.

I think your math is a little bit off...500km is roughly 300 miles... 600 miles on one tank would be sick!

i would be off if he said 500km was his whole tank. but he said 500km was the "top half" of his tank so that would make his whole tank 1000km. which is 621 miles bro

I did a reset. Was originally getting 19.2 on the Computer, now 20.5, not much difference. Did the tank measure, got 20.9 for that tank. So, it would seem that the computer is tying pretty close to the manual method.

But, that may just be a coincidence, or my situation. 80% in town, 20% highway.

I wish I could switch my username to say MISS Lanaya so you wouldnt confused me with a dude But just to clarify I got 500 kms off the top half ...which Im sure you know is larger than the bottom half of the tank, and the dash said I could still go for just over 300 kms till empty, so in the end I would get around 800km's. I kept my first gas receipt and it was 45$ for 48 litres of gas...I wont let my car get to empty because 80$ a fill would bring a tear to my eye
