Greetings,

I have a 98 Q45 and I am trying to program the gate buttons (the ones on the visor (there are 3 of them) to go with the garage door. How do I go about setting this up? A detailed info would be really appreciated.

thank you

Hey thanks for the quick reply.

I searched and found that thread but I tried that and it didn't work?

I have a Silver 98 Q45. I posted it up in a thread here when I got my system set up but can't find the thread? It has PS2, DVD player and bunch of other mods.

I have to agree with you, I don't see a lot of Q's here, specially in Glendale, so I consider my car unique. Especially at night time people just ask me what car it is haha.

One question tho, how would you know that I am Armenian? You know any good Q shops around here? I am getting a problem that I can't fix lately.

Yeah man of course I am, Straight up Hayastantsi moved here about 6 years ago. My Q looks exactly like your, just silver color, with the same chrome pillars and a 15 % tint up front, but I have a CIMA grille and no plates up front. I will take some pictures and send them to you. I am sure you have seen mine if you ever came to Glendale

Can I get Raffi's number? Every mechanic in Glendale either doesn't know how to fix my jerk problem or lies and pretends to fix it. You have that Jerking or rough Idle problem too?

P.S. I am in my early 20's I hang with my friends around Glendale.

I did find out something interesting with our G and our Genie opener. Using the mini "keychain" remote as the "teacher" does not work. I had to use a full sized remote.

Good luck!

Yes, I have always used the unit in the actual overhead motor, not a remote. I believe this is how the FSM instructs.

On the G, you have to first teach the mirror the code, and then teach the garage door to listen to the mirror. The first step is what I was referring to. My Genie came with two styles of openers.

This one - that works for teaching the mirror:

And this one that didn't. I wonder if the rolling code system is weird with the little one?
