How much are rb25's going for around Gainesville? I guess a better question is where to get one around here, I'm afraid of the importers because most people say it's a roll of the dice.

I don't really even know of anyone who imports in Gville.

Panda wiring gremlins are wiring gremlins. Doesn't matter the motor.

JRex, custom mounts, driveshaft etc. SR wiring harness has 2 plugs that need to swap and like 7 of the 8 wires are the same color. SR20 is lighter for the same displacement and I think KA's have better aftermarket support these days than an RB20. There's a reason why RB20's are a few hundred cheaper than SRs...quite a few of them actually.

I'm not knocking RB's at all, I'm just saying if you're gonna spend the dime on an RB make it worth while.

(As you can tell there is nothing impressive about an RB20 swap in my very own opinion.)

Not trying to sound like a know it all butbuying a blown sr20 motor iskind of point less when he can makea strong block with more displacementfor like the cost of buying an sr20(blown) whatever that costmaybe eagle rods and pistons run you 800 dollars for a ka24de and for an sr20 so unless you just down and lovethe way it sound i think you should do what your bank account istelling you

I've researched into RB20s some and realized that it's really not worth it in the long run. People nowadays make mounts where you can use the stock drive shaft and what not. It's become a fairly easy swap but I really don't see much of a point of replacing a 2.4L with 2.0.

Besides all I need to get the KA-T running is Injectors, Oil Lines, and my Nistune setup.

I'm researching into building a mildly built KA-T setup. Possibly about 350-400whp. Pistons and Rods for KAs aren't too pricey.

f***......

buy a motor....

build it....

install it...

drive it....

jeebus...

old RBs suck balls...

SR's are common and cheap, and great aftermarket, perfect for a DD, and then beating the s*** out of on the weekends...

KA's suck cause you have tdo s*** to em to make power.. and they're stock fail a** motors.... jesus...

no offense but when did gainesville fill up with motor p******?

EDIT: want real power? get a 2JZ or LSx swap.... RB's need too much money to make power.... with a 2j or a LS, if you pop the hood and fart on it, it'll give you 20 more ponies...

Enter Maryjane.... "RB's are the s***acular fantabulous motor of the world"

I was gonna build a KAT before my SR. I bought a 95 KA, was about to have it rebuilt and a killer deal came along on an SR. $ to boost won. And I don't regret it at all.

Eh maybe a SR later on when the KAT dies on me. It's hard to pass up a good deal on a SR though. My friend Tom's is pretty sick.

It's amazing that everyone and their mom has 370s for sale. But when you go to try and buy them they flake out on you. lol

i was gonna post this last night, but was kinda drunk, in ***hole mode, and had a headache, but here goes....

why the hell you gonna dump all the money in a KAT project, just to have it blow up on you then get an SR? you can take all the money you'd spend on going KAT right, and use it for a SR with some DECENT upgrades, and have boost in a box, without having to build the motor....

my SR is currently capable of running 12's at this moment, and once i get injectors, Z Maf and a tune on my Nistun, i'll prob be high 11's, believe it or not, my total invested money is only around $2000ish give or take a few hundo... i put mine together with used QUALITY parts, like GREddy, APEXi, TRUST, etc...

don't piss away money on a KAT project, just to have to spend more on a stock SR....

also, my 370's should be up for grabs in under a week if you want em... we can meet up in gville sometime next week if you still wanna scoop em up...

i finally got a .Bin file, or "tune" for my Z maf and 600cc's, so after i fix a few hiccups, i should be back in action

The reason why I am going KAT over SR is because I can't afford to drop $1500 on a motor right now. I am WAY too inpatient. Besides...I already have a KAT manifold, SR T25, intercooler/piping etc. Granted the intercooler and z32 MAF could be used on the SR but that would take even longer. Unless I could find a good longblock for cheap.

I totally understand where you are coming from though. If I could afford to get Ryan's SR I would be all over it.

BlackZenki82, beautiful car. That shot under the hood is all I need to see. Beautiful work.

Anyone know where I can get a used ka24de header for cheap? I only say used because I need it cheep or won't worry about installing one on this KA, I would just stick with the heavy leaky exhaust manifold.

But then again is buying a used header a good idea? I just thought about heat, time and warping...

That sounds like a fun idea, I can't watch them on my dial-up connection but I can go to a friends house who has high speed. I hate dial-up, but money must go to more important things right now.

If you already have a set what are you waiting on? lol

On another note, I may be changing turbos to a turbonetics t3/t4 .63 a/r so I may go with bigger injectors. But getting my step-dad to actually sell me stuff instead of letting it sit in boxes and collect dust is like an act of congress.
