well see, thats how my front bumper support is now, but, with my track record, my dad wants to still have a little more there. right now theres a thin piece of metal stuff connecting the 2 bumper support 'pieces' along the top so i think we are going to rip that off and put something a little more heavy duty. thats what we have to figure out.. what we want to put there thats strong, but not so strong that it wouldnt give at all if it hit something and not too weak so it would distribute the weight and not just bend or break... so yea.... I dont plan on hitting anything lol. but its just in case dont think anyone plans on that stuff.

that thin metal bracket is what your bumper and grille mount to... best be would be to notch a new bumper supprt around the FMIC core, and if you're kinda fishy about the thin metal, just weld a 1/4 peice of steel to the face, make sure not cover the two side holes as that's where your turn signals run...

if i could do it again, thats EXACTLY how i would do it....

no, the metal piece I'm talking about was added on there. I'll take a pic when I get home and show you.

Might be able to make it. Dunno yet. What time was it again?

Then again, I have a F*%ked up alternator belt. Found it when I was changing my oil. I picked up a new one but am afraid it will fray more if I try to drive without changing it. Would hate to get stuck in the dark.

blah, it's always something isn't it?

Anyways, since I don't know how to rebuild anything maybe I will just have an LS1 dropped in. I found a few for around 600. Dunno.

Flame on!

Maybe someone can talk me out of it.

the bumper support thing is ghetto rigged. this is what im talking about

we're gunna replace that with something stronger that will serve the same purpose as a front bumper support, but out of the way of the intercooler

The LS1 is from my friends buddies car that was wrecked about 2 months ago. I talked to him at my friends house, he seems like a pretty good guy but he is thinking of keeping it... I'm going to keep on him about it, hopefully he will not change his mind and sell it to me. Time will tell I guess. For now I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, It's a motor and it would do the job I want done. I know V8's. It's what I was raised on. That and the V8 people I know are not ***holes and more than willing to help. At least it's not a "f*** that". That is useless as hell.

I would love to "keep it in the family" but I need a motor. That phrase just promotes inbreeding. It's been argued on the boards for years. Some people hate it some people like it... Again, I need a motor.

If I could find a better deal on a Nissan motor that has the parts availability plus is a reliable daily driver I'd buy it.

I'm still looking after all. That being said I am not going to pass up a $600 LS1 if he will sell it to me. I just have to get my friend to stop giving him ideas before he decides to use it himself...

OK I'll admit it... it looks good for a street bike. Seriously though I saw your car around town a few times and really liked it, that is why I didn't want to see you sell it. But if you enjoy it (the bike) that is all that matters right?

Question, does anyone have an alternator adjust bolt? I need one and I'm off the road until I can find one. Nissan doesn't have one... Parts stores say they don't have it... The best lead I found was someone telling me to go to tractor supply and match it up.... but... not so sure about doing that. Oh and I can't get any damn place to get another because this is my DD.

Fun.

i plan on going too, it's like $80-$100 to enter depending on how many people show up...

that also reminds me, i have to get in contact with Don Ahrens, he's supposed to get with me on the next GIR road course "event" to help me dial in my car, and teach me a bit of driving....... hopefully it's after the drift event next sunday, cause firestone get's kinda pissy when i bring my suspension in for different alignments...

I really need that alternator adjusting bolt if anyone has one! I have PT on Monday and need it for my DD.

I tried everywhere from parts stores to hardware stores, no go. I called Nissan in Gainesville, they are never getting any business from me again. I don't care if I have to sit here and wait for the part for weeks. The woman in the parts department Kathy was rude as all hell. I told her I needed a part number and she acted like I was a fu***** alien and demanded my name, not ask demanded. I told her there was no need for my name, and explained that I needed this part and had to have the part number. She proceeded to chew me out about how she never gives out part numbers and she doesn't know who I think I am but they never give a part number no matter what.... This confused me obviously as I get part numbers all over the place all the damn time.

When I do finally get a source for this damn bolt I'm going to buy a F-ing crate and sell them on ebay... apparently according to the people at the parts stores and hardware stores they get people looking for them all the time...
