I do welcome you to the forum and the only thing I got to tell you is be safe and use extreme caution, I know sometimes we get carried away, but at the end safety is the best measure possible

Because that is the design that they use for rally cross, they have to sell a certain # of them for customers in order for it to be used in rally cross. It would cost subie to much to produce both cars.

I agree totally with you. Who can be disciplined enough not to flog the STI--me with my lead foot or a young 18/19 year old lad fully pumped up with testosterone?

It has to do with AutoCross. My friend mentioned that the Hatchbacks work much better for some reason. I can't remember why, but he is a major car enthusiast and a mechanical engineering major, so I trust his opinion.

Yesterday my wife and I were coming back from her parents house and passed by this notorious Catholic church. Now, don't start flaming me because I used a negative tone and "Catholic" in the same sentence.

This church's members are notoriously bad drivers. They don't pull into the turn lane until the last minute, they are always pulling out fast into traffic and then driving slow...

Anyways, a hispanic family pulls out in an M3 circa 2000. He starts driving stupid, so I follow him and end up at a stop light next to him, so I pre-appologize to my wife and take him at the green.

This guy definately couldn't shift, he topped out 1st and took a nose dive shifting into 2nd.

I felt all proud, especially since I didn't break the speed limit.

Now, I'm wondering if he just had a 3 series and did an M3 facade mod

Either than or he was just a bad driver. hehehe

Edit: Rally Cross

Search for some videos there are some. STI around 4.5 0-60 Gallardo around the same time. But after around 80 mph Gallardo of course pulls away slowly, but on a track STI keeps up

I work for a Subaru dealer and they changed to the hatch back due to center balance and weight distrobution over the front and rear axle to give the car a competative edge over other WRC cars, also the STI only comes in hatch back because Subaru has to sell enough of the model to qualify for WRC.

[QUOTE=ToInfinitiAndBeyond]I don't know, it took off pretty quickly. The fact that the STI has pretty significant turbo lag is the only reason I think that that's what it could have been. In any event, the kid driving it was stunned to say the least.

I hate to say it but its not possible that he had an STI unless he just cant drive a clutch. The STI is not only lighter it has more Hp and torque also it is all wheel drive like your G35x so it has amazing launchs from a dead stop. In adition to that the turbo lag has been almost non existant since 05. I work for a Subaru dealer and work with the car every day I think that a WRX may be beatable if it is stock.

I just recently drove a WRX and I didn't think the turbo lag was that bad.

IMO, it would be easy to spool up the turbo and let in the clutch thereby creating boost from a take off.

IIRC, the STI puts out more HP and more torque than the G35X does. Sorry charley.

Don't every say that again Joe. I'll have to get one of the other mods to delete your Bimmer comment. Hold on...

The salesman at the Subi dealership I went to was very honest. He said, we make quality, extremely safe, fun to drive cars, they're just ugly.

STI's have Turbo lag?

Whats the point of the Top mount IC being mounted right off the throttle plate?
