I just totaled my previous car in a accident with a 18wheeler truck, so i'm in desperate needs of a car to work and school and what not. As of right now i can somewhat afford the altima coupe 3.5se 6spd, and since its not in the luxury category as the G35, other payments will be lower; however, I REALLY WANTED A G35. And since it'll be my actual first purchase for a car, i want it brand new, so i gave up on looking for good condition used G35's. I know its kinda like WTF, but its just me. So opinions and help and maybe advice would be greatly appreciated. I cant make up my mind, 3.5se altima coupe the poorman ( turns me off ) or pay more for a G35, which will put me in a financial slump lol. comparisons of the two would be great too. thank you.
I just spent a week driving an Altima 2.5 auto sedan rental from Enterprise.Although I missed my 6 speed manual, Bluetooth, Sirius Radio, Outside thermometer, etc. I was impressed with this vehicle. My wife commented that she thought the seats might be more comfortable than the G35? To me the seats felt about the same.In any case since you mentioned that you were a student, IMHO wait on getting the G35 & go for the cheaper Altima. When you can afford paying cash for the G35 then it is time. Even a Honda Civic is fine for a student until you get a decent job and can afford a more expensive vehicle. Do not burden yourself with high car payments. All vehicles are depreciating buckets of metal. If you read some of the posts on this site you will discover that there are some whose vehicles you would not want to purchase. Make sure you have enough money left over each month for a 401k and an IRA.You'll thank me in 25 years when you check your balance.
