We have updated our car reliability stats for the G35 and G37 to include owner experiences through March 31, 2011.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2010: 17

2009: 34

2008: 46

2007 sedan: 50

2007 coupe: 59, very small sample size

2006: 51

2005: 41

2004: 49

2003: 66

The 2007 coupe and 2008 are about average, though very close to "better than average" while the others are all better than average.

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

These stats for the years we had enough data:

2009: 81, 2

2008: 70, 2

2007 sedan: 79, < 1

2006: 59, < 1

2005: 76, 4

2004: 59, < 1

2003: 57, 3

Infiniti G35 / G37 Lemon-odds and Nada-odds

We'll have further updates in August and November. With more participants we could provide more precise information.

Hi. I'm Paul. New guy from Canada. I've got an '03 G35 Automatic with all available options except the nav system. I've 159,000Km on mine, without a hint of trouble aside from wear, as in brakes and tires. I bought it used, but have all service records and repair receipts. Local owner and locally maintained at the Nissan Dealership in town. Routine maintenance and care is the key, I'm guessing. By far the most fun that can be had with 4 doors! Loving every minute behind the wheel. I replaced an '01 Mustang with this, and am extremely happy!

Hello,

I'm new to this Website/Forum. What prompted me to sign up here and learn all I can about my car is because I got taken in by Sears. And, I've had it. I have a '04 G35 Automatic Sedan w/o the navigation system or the bluetooth. I already have 96,700 on it. I'm about to reach the mileage for the warranty and am scared. I'm a single mother about to get laid off by Anthem Blue Cross. I very naive about cars. I've taken my car in to Sears and to the Dealers only since I've had my car, I purchased it used in 2007. So, far nothing major all maintenance. There were a few things that were covered by the Warranty which was wonderful. I'm really happy with my car.

This last time I took my car in to Sears and purchased a set of 4 tires w/ alignment, balance & roadside assistance. Driving home I notice the balance was still off. I meant to take it in but procrastinated for about a month. So, this past Nov. 25 I took it into my Dealer as they had a special on Oil Change. While it was there they check my tire pressure and found that the one of the Tire Pressure Sensor was damaged. They told me that the whoever last serviced my tires broke the Sensor and would cost me $255 + tax to replace it. I was upset. I called Sears and spoke with the Manager, of course, they denied it. I went ahead and had it replaced and the next day went to Sears and spoke with the Manager personally with the broken Sensor in hand and pleaded my case with no success. He again denied responsibility. I was upset to say the least. I left and looked into getting advice on going to small claims court. After looking at the invoice more carefully I noticed they charged me for 4 new TPS along with the maintenance kit which was $47. The more I was furious so I took to Facebook and posted what happened. It wasn't long after that I got a response stating that they would help resolve my situation and the next day I got a call back from the Manager who stated that he was willing to fully reimburse me for cost of replacing the broken TPS as well as the 4 TPS that was also charged in exchange that I go back on Facebook and state there that issue resolve and satisfied with the results which I did, BUT I am not happy at all. The following Monday I brought my car back in to get other things done (maintenance) and come to find out that they had to redo the alignment, rebalance the tires & the Shims on the rear Brakes were gone. Well, the last one who serviced my Brakes last was Sears. So, by the time I left with my car I spent almost $1,700. Yup! :nono: So, I'm done being naive. I want to learn more about my car before I take it in. So, that is why I am here.

Yes, I am a middle-aged woman, single-mom, who is soon to be out of a job AND angry. Well, in a good powerful angry way! lol. This is me!

dArWood,

Hopefully you never have to deal with them again. The only thing that can make things a bit shaky is dealing with a company that may not be up to date with the familiarity on vehicles with alot more technology than an average ford, chevy or any US made car. Not to say that I would put a company down but just if they haven't dealt with many foreign cars like Infiniti would be hard to let just anyone work on them. Although finding the right kind of mechanic who always take care of things which I've had in the past I'd always go back to them. Though with my mechanical experience sometimes I might catch one trying to through a fast one but I'm no dummy about cars. Glad they took care of the issue for you. Also feel free to drop me a line if you need any advice.

I'm recently new because I have a passion for cars and also a loyal Infiniti owner. I've gone through 2 generations of Infiniti's and my 05 G35x is the 3rd. My last Infiniti got totaled due to an accident not my fault. The day I was car shopping I had an impression that I was going to switch to an Acura TL due to its sleek looks. Only downside is I don't know alot about Acura but did drive one. Then coming across a nice Lakeshore Slate 05 G35x it was funny to say just like love at first sight. This car was not only clean on the outside but on the inside as well. It doesn't have the popup NAV but it doesn't matter because I stick to my trusty tom tom if needed. The other thing I was impressed with is it had the Intelligent Smart key system. So I love not needing a key to open doors or start the car.

When I purchased the car it was picked up at an auction and the car had been serviced at a Infiniti Dealership in Nebraska and when I took the car for routine maintenance it had all the records on file and the service manager told me whoever owned the vehicle before me took pretty darn good care of the car. Since then as long as Infiniti keeps up the great work on their vehicles I will continue to buy their cars. A 1996 Infiniti I30 was my first & a 2002 Infiniti I35 was my 2nd and both of them I could pretty much do just about anything a local dealership could perform being fortunate to use my buddies shop to do work myself except if It were electrical.....forget about it. I am still learning all of the maintenance routines and diy work but if anyone has questions or help id be more than happy to give it a shot.

Hello Everyone!

I became the proud owner of a Black 2005 G35 sedan with 80,000 miles a couple weeks ago. I am very impressed with this car. Not only does the car look showroom new, it has the power to get you where you're going. I look forward to hearing from other G owners as I continue to enjoy driving this beautiful car.Any things I need to watch for? I don't know the history on this car as far as maintenance in the past years. The car was given to me and has never been wrecked and the engine is strong and quick.I want to keep this car looking new and fast. Any comments from some seasoned owners?

In the process of buying a 04 G35 Sedan. Have signed up for the TrueDelta reliability data site and I'm looking forward to reading about the car. The one I am buying has 190,000 kms (roughly 115,000 miles) but has been cared for like a baby. Any idea on how many more kms/miles I have left?

Looking forward to reading posts in the future.

I've seen people with the VQ motor go over 300k miles. I had 158k on my Maxima when I got rid of it and it ran like a top with not a single motor problem the 7 years I owned it.

Obviously results differ.

My aircon just packed in. It was working fine until I pulled in at a convenience store. When I returned to the car and started it up it was only blowing out warm air and its 35 degrees outside today. Not good. I turned it on and off a few times and then there was a loud thunk from behind the dash / engine room. Pressing the on / off button a few more times I got the same result. Then putting the car into drive and accelerating away I breifly heard a rattling noise. I have a feeling the compressor just broke but can't check for sure until I take it to the dealer. I'm afraid to drive it until then. The car is a 2008 model with less than 40,000km. My last car (a Honda) never gave me any aircon problems and I racked up over 180,000km from new. What gives!? Has anyone else has this or a similar problem and what was the cause and fix?

We've updated our reliability stats for the G to include owner experiences through June 30, 2014.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2012 G: 13, low
2011 G: 15, low
2010 G: 28, low
2009 G: 22, low
2008 G: 25, low
2007 G coupe: 28, low, very small sample size
2007 G sedan: 34, low
2006 G: 64, moderate

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2011 G: 88, < 1
2010 G: 79, < 1
2009 G: 80, < 1
2008 G: 81, < 1
2007 G sedan: 70, < 1
2006 G: 56, 5

Next updates in November and in February. The more owners participate, the more comprehensive and precise these will be.
