2011 G: 86, < 1
2010 G: 80, < 1
2009 G: 80, < 1

Zero trips in a decade? That's outstanding.

Additional participants always helpful, especially for the first-gen cars. More members have been selling than buying these, so the sample sizes have been decreasing.

We've updated our reliability stats for the G to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2013 G: 4, low
2012 G: 12, low
2011 G: 13, low
2010 G: 19, low
2009 G: 28, low
2008 G: 24, low
2007 G sedan: 28, low
2006 G: 56, low
2005 G: 81, moderate
2004 G: 67, low
2003 G: 66, low

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2012 G: 93, < 1
2011 G: 85, < 1
2010 G: 83, < 1
2009 G: 74, < 1
2008 G: 79, < 1
2007 G sedan: 74, < 1
2006 G: 68, 4
2004 G: 51, 3
2003 G: 51, 6

We'll have further updates in May and in August. The more owners participate, the more comprehensive and precise these will be.

Helloooooo everyone! New Infiniti owner here. Bought my first in November of 2015. Found an 04 g35x sedan with 118k that was previously a lease vehicle for 4 grand and after some research and tedious forum reading... I bought it cash out. Fell in love with it, but aside from the carfax, I got 0 service records with the car. Aside from being hit by a suicidal doe a month after getting it at about 60mph and the dent on the drivers front quarter panel it's in great shape. Had some minor wear and tear being 12 years old, but I didn't mind. Day after i got it home it got a new battery, tires, alignment and balance, changed oil w/ synthetic myself along with filter. Well after a few ses lights, cold stalls, it dying in traffic upon slow acceleration once, a slight vibration at 75mph, I found an honest family run shop who's owner and master mechanic happened to be a Z owner and enthusiast. A dirty drive by wire TB was my suspect for the stalls as well as a very bad exhaust leak, I dropped the car off Friday may 6th, 2016 to have the following done, as well as anything else that needed attention:
New valve cover gasket
New exhaust, done in shop and on a budget
New throttle body, cleaned old one but wasn't performing, (one cause of the ses light)
New iridium plugs
Replaced a stuck open evap valve (also a probable cause of an ses light)
Replaced a bad coil pack (another ses light culprit)
Diff lubes checked, will do myself soon but wanted to make sure there were no issues
Pesky flashing airbag light, and a few other little things that needed attention
And the famously ridiculous state inspection the "great" state of Virginia requires yearly.
I get the car back tomorrow and can't wait to drive her again when she's back to full health. Aside from the above mentioned stuff taking a bit longer then expected the shop kept me updated regularly
And found no major issues! I was surprised and relieved. Other than the fore mentioned problems, I've thoroughly enjoyed my g so far and have plans to put it in a body shop this summer to fix the dent from that damn deer that ran into me. So far I've put 7k miles on her since November and am hoping to run her to over 200k. Thanks for reading!

Sorry, I definitely added too much to my first reply to this thread, but here's my info:
04 g35x w/ 124k miles
Repairs and work done so far as of today actually cuz I get my G Back in about an hour:
Suspension links
Valve cover gasket and iridium plugs
Tires, alignment, balance
New exhaust, done in shop. Oem was split, rusted and leaking
Repair of a crack in the rear aluminum subframe, done with TIG weld
New battery
New fobs
Pads and rotors, new
Probably forgetting a few little things but I've had the car for 6 months and am finally getting it back to 100% health.
Hope this helps.

Hello "G"uys And "G"als...Iam A New Member 2 The Nicoclub..What Iam Not New To Is The 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe...I Bought Mine Brand Spank'n New And Still Own It Till This Day!.. Iam Not Sure About All '03 Coupes But Mine Was Built AND Assembled In Japan Which Is Verified By The Letter " J" Infront Of The Vid Number Aswell Under The Hood Corner Plaque. So I Sometimes Wonder If That Holds Any Bearing On Why My G35 Is Running Impeccably! The Engine Light Has Only Came On ONCE In 14Years It Has 265,000KM With No Pinging And No Rust...The Only Real Quam I Have Is The Electronics Such As Cd Player, Window Motors And That's About It...They Really Broke The Mold With This Coupe...15 Years Later And Still Garners Attention A New

I have had my G35 sedan since October 2002. It currently has 150,000KM on (just under 90,000 miles) the clock and is mostly still running well. Most of the problems I have had with it concern the braking system. Infiniti replaced all the brakes early on due to some kind of premature wear that was apparently an early problem and I have since replaced discs, calipers and pads on all wheels. On both rear wheels I have had brake binding/overheating problems needing repair and replacement and on the driver's side front I had to replace the stub axle (the bearings were shot but Infiniti does not provide separate replacement bearings).
The driver's seat frame broke about 7 years ago and the Infiniti dealer would not repair it, claiming that a non factory weld may not be safe. The replacement seat was ridiculously expensive so I had the welding done at a non Infiniti shop and have had no problems since. In 2013 the exhaust developed a hole just in front of the muffler and I had a shroud fitted over the area - so far so good. in 2014 the air conditioning cut out and the stereo wouldn't work. A replacement stereo fixed the problem. For the past four years there has been a clunking noise from the area of the driver's side front when travelling over rough ground. Tire wear is even, steering is unaffected and handling is just fine. The local dealer is unable to find the cause and so it continues. Recently the heater fan has become a little noisy. In all, it's difficult to complain about quality when this is probably the most problem free car I've ever had.

05 G coupe 6mt

178k on the clock

Replaced the battery 2 years ago, replaced the O-ring behind the "oil cooler" last summer, and I've had to replace the passenger exhaust cam position sensor twice now.

Hello- I just joined. I bought a 2005 G35 coupe with around 170000 miles on it. It has lots of electrical gremlins- the airbag light keeps blinking and I found you while searching how to stop it. The fix here does not work, but I think it is because there is more to the error than just that, as the key and remote are probably not properly matched to the ECM. the key works in the ignition but not on the door.

The passenger window goes down, but not up reliably. you need to put the driver's window up by quickly rocking the switch up an inch at a time. if it goes all the way up, it rolls 1/3 the way down again.

I have ordered the driver's side valve cover, as it is leaking oil there.

luckily it is only a first car for my son. I think I will keep it though. It looks like a nice car, and is surprisingly a bit of a hot-rod. I had no idea- we found it for $2000 here in FL.

Although my 2003 G35 sedan has been an extremely good car in most ways - the brakes have been an ongoing service item since new - it is now nearing 160,000 Km (100,000 miles) and going as well as ever. I never did discover what the clunk noise from the driver's front was even though the suspension and steering were carefully examined, worked on and a couple of parts unnecessarily replaced, but other than that not too many complaints, EXCEPT - When a part needs replacing it seems rarely possible to buy the damned thing on its own. Infiniti always wants to sell the whole assembly, which can be extremely expensive. This has happened to me three times - driver's seat, wheel bearing and now the oil cooler. I am very reluctant to pay close to $1,000 (Can) to fix a minor oil leak on a car that would wholesale at less than $5,000. Alternatives are being sought.

It looks like the link to TrueDelta no longer works.
What I have: 2007 G35 Journey sedan. Purchased in 2014 with ~100,000 miles on it. Now at 202,xxx miles. Work done: plugs twice (first when purchased), water pump at about 180K miles along with timing chain guides, alternator, and the usual maintenance of brakes, oil, filters. Overall very pleased with this car.

Hey all, new to the forum. Previously owned an 05 sedan MT 4 years ago.
Just purchased an 03 g35AT with some “character”
Mods consist of a Injen CAI and a Borla cat back as far as I can tell.

Just posted in the general discussion if anyone can lend me their brains.

Also currently own:
1988 Nissan 300zx Turbo MT, full restoration
mods: A financially devastating amount for a car that’s always getting worked on.
2012 Toyota Tundra TRD
Mods: 4” ready lift, 35x12.5 duratracs, 18x9.5 rims, cai, aFe exhaust, lights and audio.
2020 Honda HRV -led low beams and 18” rims ..all i can do with that picky warranty!

Cheers!
