I'm located in Illinois and was wondering if anyone knows (and is from illinois) where to go for good performance work. I want to start with the cold air intake (I can put that in myself) and then with pulleys and a plenum spacer. I want to be comfortable with a good pm doing it and not just anyone.

You can probably do the plenum spacer yourself aswell.

The pulleys I would trust to most shops. Not to intensive. Just a couple of bolts on each pulley and put on a new belt.

I'd do all those myself if you have a little free time here and there. Not difficult mods.

Just do it, do some research, get some time set aside, and get er' done.

The plenum spacer is a snap, just don't over tighten your bolts, the intake is 15mins, and the pulleys shouldn't be too bad either, I've never installed them yet, because I have a stereo and it already drops the rpms when on too loud. I may get a capacitor to help with the voltage issues.

To be honest, I never knew much about cars until I was 18, I've since learned more about performance than anything, but in the process have learned so much about automobiles, proper maintenance, power, engines in general, etc.

I really like cars, and enjoy working on them myself, I guess it's more of a hobby for some

What year is your sedan? If it's 03-04, then a spacer alone will be fine, but if its an 05-06 you also need the MREV2 lower plenum to get any increase in HP. A spacer alone will not do anything.

Same. I diden't get my first car till I was 18. Had to buy it my self. Didn't start modding them till I got the G though(About a year ago). Never had the money before.

That way I could be up to at least 280 hp. If not 290.

Would you happen to have a picture of your G? And I also noticed you have a lot more added to your car. Not too knowledgeble on what can get me the most hp. But, I know the basics.

I have more on my myspace page.

http://viewmorepics.myspace.co...04983

Thats should go straight to my car pics.

If that link doesn't work then here is my homepage for myspace.http://www.myspace.com/brandnamesoda

Exhaust:Exhaust is big part of performance. When I was choosing an exhaust for my car I went with stillen because It seemed to give the best gains for the sedan. There aren't a lot of options, and most options they do offer are only single pathway exhausts. Stillen is true dual and goes to a single muffler. I love it. Very noticeable gains.

Plenum:My plenum was chosen because It stays a lot cooler. It is some sort of composite material. They claim it stays 50 degrees cooler then our stock aluminum plenums. I believe it too. I can drive an hour and a half, Pop my hood and put my hand right on the plenum and it wont burn me. I wouldn't do that to the stock one. Also it has 20% more volume then stock plenum and has a very smooth underside to keep air moving smoothly. With the plenum you will not need a spacer. http://www.kinetixracing.com/b....aspx

Grounding wires:Mine are stillen and they suck. Go with SBD Grounding kit. A member of nico makes them and everyone who has went with them has felt a big difference. zerothread?id=345479

Radiator fan:The stock fan on the 03 and 04 sedans is mechanical. Meaning it is belt driven. Thats bad. It takes power to turn it. So I went with an electric fan to help with this problem. Mishimoto 14in. Performance Slim Radiator Fan. Cheap and powerful. Used to cool V8 mustangs.http://www.americanmuscle.com/....html$69.99 with mounting kits and free delivery.

Underdrive pulleys: Lighter weight then stock pulleys. Takes less power to turn. When used with an electric fan the gains are pretty significant. They make the car alot more responsive.

The rest are just for looks or haven't been installed yet.

Great post Teflon, I need to get this fan you speak of

Things have been too busy for me lately... it's been unhealthy.

Thank you.

I bought a new switch for my fan. It lights up when it is in the on position. I'll post pics of both options. I want people to let me know if it looks to rice or if should keep it the way it is. Another option would be to mount a LED to the same circuit, but mount it somewhere on the dash. I already have a hole in my dash where the past owner had a bass boost controller. I was thinking of running the LED to there.

Nice I see you've added the new hood cover as well. Is that for the plenum?

No the new hood is because A Silverado backed into my car. The cost to fix the old hood and get a new more aggressive hood were around the same price. Also at the time stillen was offering free shipping on the hood. So I jumped on that.

The plenum I have fits just fine with the original hood.
