Yeah. Hi guys. I'm new here to this forum. My name is Paul. I have an 05 G35 coupe. And I've been struggling with my fuel gauge. Not reading correctly run out of gas too many times to count. I've seen the videos on YouTube tried cleaning. The sending units with Q-tips put the instrument cluster in diagnostic mode and fuel gauge Falls. Between a half a tank and a quarter of a tank, so it doesn't make it all the way up to a half tank. In diag mode. I don't know if that means my gauge is bad or what but this problem is driving me absolutely bonkers. Would appreciate some help.

:welcome: to NICO! Today seems to be bad instrument cluster day. Google "instrument cluster repair" or search for that on eBay. There are multiple vendors that rebuild clusters. I don't have any experience with them, but the going rate seems to be somewhere around $100-150, so not bad compared to Infiniti's solution, which would be to swap the entire cluster.

Hey, I've seen issues related to fuel level indication for years now. 2 common problems for this. The fuel level sending unit, and the cluster itself. These days if a g35 rolls into the shop, we recommend they replace both of them. Because too many times someone will replace the level sending unit, and a little while later the cluster fails and they run out of gas again, and create a scene at the dealership. So we cover our a** by replacing both and eliminating any possible issues.
