I went a speedometer indicated 140 mph today on the way back from Long Beach with two 300lb guys + luggage in the car

Given enough highway, yes. I have seen 135, and my hands were too sweaty, and I was a little too scared to take it faster. If the highway was straight, I would have considered it, but with the turn that was ahead of me, that was faster than I wanted to try it out.

ive seen 158 in mine. that is on a closed road. It is an old airport runway that is by my house... We always reaced there in my HS days. Cops could never do anything about it!

Weenie. Back in the day I did 133 in my '79 Celica with bias-ply tires (18 and stupid). Only way I knew how fast I was going was due to following a buddy in his vette. I tend to stay <10mph over the speed limit now unless I go on a track.
