I just picked up a 99 G20 with a blown motor, Im wondering what the differances are between SRs from differant chasis and how difficult those things are to change. I just want it to be stock and reliable, Im going to fix it and sell it. I dont know much about the fwd SRs and I would like some info to get me going. Ive done rwd SR swaps, now its time to do a FWD one, any help would be great.

You need a lowport motor in order to return to stock with that car. You can find it in B14 (95-99) 200SX/Sentras and similarly yeared G20s, though I'm not exactly sure when Nissan did the lowport changeover in G's.

The differences as far as function between RWD and FWD aren't much, but obviously, the exterior of the block is quite different.

It'll be a drop-in-and-go swap. Find a good motor and start pulling the blown one out.

yah Im not worried much about the swap, ive done fwd SR swaps on 2 other cars, I just didnt know which motor I could use, I also discoverd the transmission is cracked, I would be pissed if I had paid more than 500 bucks for it, thanks for the info.
