Hello All,

I was hoping to get verification that these rims will work on my car. Can anyone confirm this combo will work?

I found this thread, but it's back in 2007 and seems to have die out. Check it out if you like.

fx-wheels-on-a-y33-t222883.html

I tried to contact member NY94J30, to see if everything did indeed work out. But he doesn't seem to be active anymore. When you scroll down further I see that member 3Q Jay has them on his 1st gen (at least I think it was a 1st gen, I'm new).

I'm just trying to be as sure as possible before I run out and buy these wheels. I made the mistake of buying M35x 8 spoke hyper silver wheels without doing the proper research and I wasn't able to get them to work due to the need of a 1/4 in spacer needed in the front. Ended up with a wobble at higher speeds and could find no way to get rid of it, so I guess they are going up on Craigslist. There is nothing wrong with the wheels or tires, had that checked obviously.

Thanks for any help the forum members may be able to offer.

Yes, the FX wheels work fine on the 2nd Gen Q's. Those or 3rd Gen Q's work great.

I completely investigated this when I was looking for wheels...unfortunateyl the FX wheels were hard to find at the time and I ended up with an 06' M45 Sport set of rims, now those require spacers. The FX and 3rd Gen will fit perfectly. Personally I would try to get a set of 20's if you don't live in an area with bad road, if so then go with 18's.

Keep an eye out for some knock-offs in the town you live in or call one of the places that does factory replacement wheels pretty cheap, tons of those out on the web.

Thanks for the reply! I did just that, there are a bunch out there. I e-mailed FinishLineWheels.com, but they were out of stock. Can anyone out there recommend such a place? I'm only interested in OEM Infiniti wheels. Do all these places only carry refurbished wheels?

I would prefer to get a non-refinished wheel. Is going to the dealer my only option? Would a dealer still be able to obtain them or do they discontinue them after a while?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Man BadQ45t, I wish I had time to really pick your brain on this. You probably didn't see my earlier post. I got a set of 06' (may have been 07') M35x wheels and tires just sitting. Yes, I needed a minimum 1/4 inch spacer and longer lugs for the front. I purchased billet spacers (Joe's wheel spacers). My mechanic and I have tried everything we can think of, I have a bad shimmy or "wobble" at about 55+ and it stops at about 65+.

We replaced everything in the front end (except the struts, but they seem fine). Balanced and rebalanced the wheels and tires. Had them checked for a bad tire or out of round wheel, rotated them, etc., the wobble remains.

We finally took off the spacer and put the original Anniversary Edition wheels and tires back on, no problems, no wobble, goes down the road strait as an arrow.

I was getting ready to put them up for sale, but to tell you the truth, I like the 8 spoke instead of the 7 spoke FX wheels and the M35x wheels are hyper silver finish, which I like better than the "frost silver" finish of the OEM FX35 18X8 rims. MAN! I wish I could find a way to make them work!

What spacers did you use? Any tips or tricks you can offer? Did you encounter any such problems?

I wish I was one of those people who could say, "No, I slapped on the spacer, put the balanced wheels and tires on and no problems."

Hello All,

BadQ45, I hope your right about the FX35 18X8 rims. I went out and got a set tonight! They look great! Clearly the big (starting to dry rot) tires got to go, good thing is I have a set (about 60 to 70 percent life left) which are 18X8.

Man, I hope you and other are right about bolt on with no spacers needed. I don't want t end up in the same situation like the M35x wheels.

Check out the pics. This is the Q with the M35x wheels, but I couldn't get rid of the "shimmy"

Here are the pics of the FX35 wheels and tires.

I hope everything works out, I like them. The finish is almost perfect on all of them.

I'll be selling my M35x wheels and tires if these work out. I'll probably start locally an go from there. Thanks for the help you all!

Sorry man, for me they worked perfectly. I did have some different rims, however. Mine were the Enkei rims that came on the sport. I had Kevin Falk (long since banished from NICO) turn me onto a guy that made custom spacers. These were $300 bucks and bolted onto my old lugs and created a new set of 5 lugs. They were very high quality.

This is how these rims look, it was for this look I went through the trouble although when I did this 5-6 years ago I thought they would bolt right on and had a surprise when they didn't. Took me 6 months to figure it all out :(

FX rims will work fine since it looks like your done with those. I have my car 2" lower with KYB SR specials and tein springs, with the spacers and 19" rims it was the perfect look...

Yea Man,

That looks sweet, nice ride!

Yea, I have not had a chance to take off those "truck tires" that came one the FX35 rims I got yet and do a test fit, but from the pics I saw from NY94J39, I'm hoping everything will be OK. fx-wheels-on-a-y33-t222883.html

I'll post up pics when they are on. I wanted to keep a really "stock" look, but the 2000 Q45 Anniversary Edition rims are not attractive to me at all (I've always felt that way about a rim that looks like a "star" in any way).

So because I don't like "star" rims, I'm having to go through all this trouble LOL,what you gonna do :)

Hello All,

Turns out BadQ45t was exactly right. Here is proof positive. The FX35, 18X8, 7 Spoke wheels will work just fine. If your running stock struts you'll want to run a tire size of 245/45/18. The clearance is REAL REAL close but works. See the pics.

I have to admit, I didn't think I would like the "frost silver" finish as much as the "Hyper Silver" finish of the M35x wheels, but I like them better than the M35x wheels! (IMHO)

Those look great. If i had it to do over again I would have done the 18" or 20" FX and saved all the trouble of the spacers.
