Strangely enough, I moved from a 2004 Sentra Spec V to my current 3.5SE CVT coupe. I have my days where I wish it was a manual, but most days I'm extremely happy with the CVT and don't even think about a manual transmission. It's wonderful, especially in heavy traffic and I don't have to clutch my brains out. (Not that I minded it before, I just don't particularly miss it, ha)

Either way, MT or CVT, you will not be disappointed with this car. It is absolutely wonderful. Though the Speed 3 might be cheaper, IMHO, it doesn't feel much faster if it feels faster at all than the A/C, and you're more likely to turn heads with a sleek Altima than a "sport" wagon anyday. Not to mention, insurance is WAY cheaper on the A/C (but I'm not sure how insurance works in Mexico.)

Good luck man! Welcome to the forums!

if you can't order the car with the options YOU WANT, then I say forget it. no point in settling for something you don't really want.

for me manual transmission is a deal maker or breaker. mexico isn't lucky, seems all the new cars come only with automatic-type trans.

Honda accord coupe 5ATNissan altima coupe CVTPontiac g6 4AT or 6ATMitsubishi eclipse 5AT

only the underpowered 152hp lancer ES has a 5MT.

oh wait, I just checked on nissan and thank god the Sentra SE-R SpecV has a proper 6MT. 200hp with Nurburgring tunned suspension and available HLSD.for $ 249,800 for 2008 model and $ 275,000 for 2009 model.

also there is the awesome Mazdaspeed3 model that has 268hp with LSD and 6MT for $ 289,990. I think, considering you're from mexico, I would choose this one If I where you

EDIT: I just read you are going to sign the paperworks for a 3.5SE CVT.well congrats mate! VQ acceleration is the best! you're going to love it!

thats what i thought @ first... thats y i started this thread, to ask how good the CVT really is, and 99% of CVT owners said GO FOR IT, IT ROCKS, so changed my mind and settled for the CVT. im sooo excited, i already switched for ESP's GB place for dual projector headlights and i dont even have the car yet i even dream of it !!! man!! i want it soooo bad already!!!

and yeah at first i thought of the Speed3, but comparing these 2.. a "sporty" 4-door-wagonish style car realy doesnt stand a change to the stylish lines of the A/C

and yeah, next week i'll sign the paperwork for my A/C, a Maxima or an Altima Sedan for my partner, hes more of 4-door sedans, a utility vehicle.. maybe a TIDA or SENTRA and the cool CABSTAR for my company's deliveries

so ill keep u all posted
