I have a so called friend who steal my tools and owns a red 92 civic dx coupe. He ripped a turbo from a talon from a local junkyard with seized turbines. He paid 50 bucks for it and said the turbines only spin when the engines on, after that the turbo's new home is in his trunk. He also threw in a civic EX intake manifold and advance his timming to as far as it would go. He also threw in a B16 ECU. Now his car's idle jumps from 3000 rpm to 500 rpm back to 3000 rpm. You can tell when he's 4 blocks away as he comes to a stop at stop signs because of his 4 inch tip coffee pot fart can.

tis the way it goes with stupid people. although some ricers are not stupid and they know what they are doing but their vehichle is still riced out. they want it that way. it looks good to them. thses people are cool. but when some ricer has a piece of $hit and they believe themselves to be the king or queen of all things car related then they are stupid ricers who usually have no clue as to what they are doing.:alcoholic my worste fear is that the term RICER will become cool in a sick twisted way. but i rant carry on.

500hp fuel pump hehe. Reminds me of a guy who I talked to who said the transmission in his Thunderbird gave the engine 40hp. :thinker
Ahahaha, this thread rules! Sorry dude, his name was actually Nathan, and every Greg I have ever met is cooler than ishtar.

i tell you somethin else that bothers me is people and their labeling of anything popular rice. like the bastards who say a 240 is becoming rice and drifting is such a ricer thing to do. this is crap. ricers do not drift ask any of them who claim to what their technique is, i bet they dont have one. it will be something like "dude i just go into the turn full throttle and cut the wheel then i slide!" and saying the 240sx is rice well thems fightin words. i dont know im bored as hell ranting and ranting.

another realy bad thing is american rice, and its spreading. its oing up into the larger cc cars too, aka stangs (ewwwww), camaros, TA's, etc for all you that have seen mischief 3000, u know waht im talking about, MUSTANG GTR, or like this dumb kid from school, he's got a purple mustang with a white top, auto, V6, but its got GT wheels and body work and i gues exhaust, he claims its a V* but everyone who's seen it says its a V6, he also loves his car and is so proud of it and thinks its the sh*t, but he drives it like an old person (on offense to the eledeerly) oh, he's got chrome altezzas on it, eww

P.S. there arent any altezzas for the 240, right? please tell me there arent any, plz.....

No matt, there arent...yet..

At the State JROTC meet, a guy in my battalion was over by us talking as this mom was getting on to a kid for driving crazy. and i told him that if he doesnt know how to drive fast and be safe to not do it. i told him my car was meant to handle well, and driving fast wasnt a real problem. well, this one kid says that my wing actually helps when im driving fast. (i call 100 fast). heres how it went:kid:see, when he goes fast this wing helpsme:no, it doesntkid:well, not right now, but when you are going like 80-90 it makes downforceme:no it doesnt, its just for looks, im not gonna lie and say it helps me turn fasterparent who was chastizing the other kid:actually, it would be bad for the car the way it is shaped, it would send the air up and provide no downforce at all.Well, the kid who was telling me this got rid of his old van(moms) and bought a 4dr cavalier and he drives the thing around trying to go fast all the time. he also thinks he knows cars cause he started reading rice mags about 6 months ago. i cant wait till he wrecks his car or gets a ticket.

OMG... the thread that wouldnt die. I can see why though, there definitely is an over-abundance of ignorant ricers in our import community. Why does it seem like the less some one actually knows, the more they wanna run there mouth and prove there idiocy. :nono

today's special: On lunch I saw this Mexican guy in a red late eighties civic with yellow eletrical tape "ricing stripes" and a *spray painted silver PLYWOOD* wing! It was about a foot and a half tall., towering above the cool stripes. The bumpers were also spray painted gold

this guy almost got away with it...he was sayin WRX was the same hp as some other car. i forget what it was but for the sake of argument, let's say that he was right. then he said WRX is faster cause it's lighter. again this makes sense. then he added "and cause it's turbocharged."okay, if they're the same hp, whether it's turbo or not should have nothing to do with speed, right?

in BASIC theory, wouldn't a turbo engine be slower to produce the same hp as a NA engine due to *some* lag? Hence, if you had a turbo KA and a NA KA with exact hp numbers, and if all other factors were equal, wouldn't the NA car produce hp faster, and therefore be a faster car(considering every other factor is equal) over a given distance??

that one about the nsx is some funny ****, i dont doubt it either there are some dumb *** posers these days. My personal favorite is: "nitrous, header, exhaust intake, SR20, 220 stock HP,...that's all nice, but where's the under car neons and the carbon fiber dash trim?"

as far as the NA meets turbo theory. true the NA will produce HP faster but NA engines tend to have a high powerman (well thats what i call it, equivalent to V-Tec). meaning all the HP will kick in at 3500 and could last up to 5500. the turbo could take between 3000 to 4000 to kick in but it would keep on producing HP all the way to redline. but correct me if im wrong.

with this whole NA turbo thing, i didn't fully read your post but i think i get what your saying, the turbo will put out a certain amount of psi during certain revs of the rpm. This coincides with your powerband and is usually somewhere between 3500-6500 on the tach in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear. the turbo will help a little with top end speed, but its generally for the low end. And for even lower end instand power a supercharger is always the way to go.
