I recently bought a 93 240sx with a front end conversion already done but with a blown s13 blacktop engine. A put an s13 redtop engine back in. The engine starts up and runs very well no smoke, no knocking, or anything like that. Then every time you let your foot off the gas it goes dead. It always starts right back up and will keep running until you have to make a stop again. I took it too an import car mechanic (they knew nothing about sr20det engines though) and all they could tell me is that the 02 sensor was bad. I replaced it but I still have the same problem. This is my first time dealing with a sr20det engine and I am not sure what to do. I want to finish fixing the car up but I have to get this problem out of the way with first.

Sounds like you need to recirculate the BOV.

I agree with SideWays. The MAF don't like atmospheric BOV.

Yeah, thats what is was. I recirculated the BOV and it works fine now. The weird thing about it though is thats how the car was set up when I got it and it didnt have that problem. The only thing I changed was the block.

Thanks for the help.
